Why do people not like Gale?

I totally agree with you!
I really don't understand why everyone are so fond of Peeta. Sure he's sweet and nice, but that's just it - he was too perfect. No one can be that perfect. I don't think there was a single time where Peeta done something unforgivable. I know he tried to kill Katniss, but that wasn't him, it was the venom.
Gale on the other hand isn't perfect, nor trying to be. He's strong and caring. He had to work hard for his family survival. He also fought for his belief.
I personally think most people prefer Peeta because he was so nice, and they probably liked the idea of two people falling in amor in the games. I personally thought it was too obvious, but oh well. I also think most people don't like Gale because Suzanne Collins often portrayed him as an angry guy who had something against the Capitol. I really don't think she liked him very much. She definitely prefered Peeta.
And since most people like Peeta, they probably don't like the idea of Gale getting in the way of him and Katniss.

for me why i don't like gale is every time katniss doesn't agree with him he freaks out, he's más mean and won't let katniss be close to anyone else, he thinks he's better then everyone and más deserving of katniss's love, and i could go on a whole rant about why i don't like gale but before i get to that i'll stop here

I really like Gale becaues he is smart and amor the out doors the reasion I like him over Peeta is becoues he had to grow up with barly any comida on the mesa, tabla but he always found a way to feed his brothers and sister unlike Peeta he always had comida más o less, and I just don't like the way Peeta acts. I'm still in the middle of bool two so I don't know what happens. I have many friends who like Peeta and hate Gale for a reasion I do not now.

I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING tu SAID!! peetas ok but gale is AMAZING. i have, since the first book, liked gale the best. gale just seems so much más real. he comes across as much tougher than peeta but he can still be really gentle and loving with katniss. peeta barely even survived the hunger games! if gale had been in the arena with katniss he would have been much más helpful and not such a burden. i really hoped katniss would end up with gale but it was pertty predictable that she would end up with peeta. i guess they were just meant to be!

I feel like Gale was probably a decent guy, but I did have a couple of problems with him. One was that he was an obstacle to Katniss being with Peeta, and I wanted her with Peeta and am glad that they ended up together. The other problem I have is that he seems to only really be into Katniss when he sees that somebody else is into her. He admitted that he first noticed her in that way when he saw that other guy hitting on her, and then he wants her again after he sees her besar Peeta on tv.

I like Gale because he's real and strong and when tu get past the hard exterior, he is a loving person. People skip over all the good things he did like *spoilers* when he saved Prim in the District 13 bombing risking his own life, o when he gave Katniss his comida when they didn't get much, o when even though Peeta was taking the woman he loved away he helped train him for the quarter Quell. I do not like Peeta because I think his character is very fake. I don't think any one is as perfect as him and i dont like how everyone always has to save him o look out for him. I dont think he is very manly either. Those are my opinions and they aren't changing.

The autor of the book purposely gave Peeta many of Gale's traits plus more. Not only is he caring, a decent survivor, and slightly rebellious towards the Capitol, but he also is willing to lay down his life for those whom he loves, he is caring, kind-hearted, and smart.

Gale seems más real to me. He's there to survive, and he cares enough to help both his and Katniss's family while she had to go to the games. He's like most male's are, hard, but caring. His rebellious ways are amazing, and standing up to the Capitol PURPOSELY, well, that was a Valiente thing to do, and if I were in the book, I would be on his side. He doesn't really want anyone's help, and the amor he and Katniss share was brought up por years of friendship and trusting. It's obvious they care for eachother. Wheras Katniss's so called "romance" with Peeta was made up for the press. Any amor she feels for him she only feels because she was pressured too. And when someone says they're madly in amor with you, it's human nature to start thinking about that person and starting to like them too, even if it's not real love.


And another thing, Peeta seems just... TOO perfect. Kind of like (pardon this reference) Edward from Twilight. His character is too fake.

Are tu crazy. Peeta is so much better all I wanted to so through the whole series was squeeze gales head off he made me so mad. While peeta is weet and katniss needed a person like him to calm and help her through stuff. While katniss wasn't my favorito! charater and I agree with heno, hay itch when he dicho that she will never desere peeta. I kinda think she needed him in he end. But I don't hate gale. He made the story complete

well i can't choose but i think the reason why people pick Peeta is because they know that she marries him in the end anyway.. but thts just my opinion so there also could be alot of other reasons

I liked Gale better since the beginning. His character was más realistic than Peeta's, and I felt that Peeta's relationship with Katniss was rather fake, as it basically began with publicity.
I prefer Gale with Katniss because they have más of a history together. I've dicho before, Katniss and Gale remind me of Max and Fang from Maximum Ride. They've had a longer, closer relationship than Katniss and Peeta have.

i dont know i like peeta mostly because he would risk his lif for katniss hes my kinda person gale isnt in my image i can see him as a ego dude just like jacob in twilight sooo yah gale also killed prim!! he didnt bomb it but he made the bomb so i think its obvious why i like peeta more

Well my reason is because Gale is a player and meanish in my pref, + Peeta is so so so so so so CUTE!!!

Okay honestly, I read a few chapters of Mockingjay and then couldn't take I any longer and skipped to when Peeta came back, so honestly I don't know much of Gale's character, he wasn't in the two libros really. It's not enough for me to know of his actions, I need dialogue. And Peeta was funny, thats what really stands out to me, him licking the plate and calling out effie, and other stuff, he was essential comic relief. I didn't think he was too perfect (uh oh) and in Mockingjay I was like f he's a lot like me now... And people think he's gay ya right... I got vibes that Peeta could be selfish, in the first book at least, like if he didn't like The girl. Also I like people that can do public speaking, I like how Peeta really is the underdog and rises on parte superior, arriba because normally types like gale take that part. And gale just a bit annoying, boring, typical, serious. I really need to read all of Mockingjay but ten bucks my opinion of him doesn't change that much. He's sweet, yes, and strong. Ok I might like both of them equally. I just like people who try really hard if anything gale was too perfect.
