Looking for some new hope in 2017, today I ventured to

Hollywood\'s El Capitan Theatre to watch Rogue One: A Star Wars Story for the second time and check out the original costumes from the movie they had on display there.

Glyn Dillon and David Crossman were co-Costume Designers responsible for recreating the distinctive look of the Star Wars universe on the Episode IV prequel directed by Gareth Edwards. These costumes worn by our five Rebel Alliance \'Rogue One\' squad heroes were photographed on display at the El Capitan Theatre where they\'ll be for cinema goers to see until February 5, 2017. Warning: Spoilers ahead!

Felicity Jones\'s \'Jyn Erso\' is the daughter of scientist \'Galen Erso\' (played by Mads Mikkelson), who has been forced by \'Director Orson Krennic\' to help construct the Empire\'s Death Star planet-killing machine.

Sacrificing himself so his daughter could be free, she was raised until she was a teenager by extremist resistance fighter

\'Saw Gerrera\' and then abandoned to divert suspicion of who she was. Forced to survive on her own, she became a trained fighter, but was imprisoned as a criminal until she was freed be the Rebel Alliance who wanted to use her connections to Saw Gerrera and her father. Jyn Erso joins the cause and is critical in leading the crucial mission to obtain the blueprints to the Death Star.

The defiant loner\'s costume features a cotton drill jacket with printed trim detail, stretch cotton trousers with pin tuck and print detail, leather gloves, belt and holster and boots.

Captain Cassian Andor costume worn by Diego Luna in Rogue One

Diego Luna\'s \'Captain Cassian Andor\' is a veteran spy of the Rebellion and has been fighting the Empire since he was six years old.

Rogue One costume most evokes classic Star Wars, in particular Han Solo\'s Hoth planet look from The Empire Strikes Back.

His parka is made of dyed nylon with a faux fur hood trim, he wears cotton trousers, leather boots and holster, a canvas belt with cast

Rebel buckle, and suede gloves with greeblie details.

Bodhi Rook costume worn by Riz Ahmed in Rogue One

Riz Ahmed plays the former Imperial pilot, \'Bodhi Rook\', that Jyn\'s father convinces to defect and get a message to the Rebellion.

His costume features cotton drill jumpsuit overalls with molded

Imperial insignia, a nylon mesh and cotton utility vest, leather boots and clear polyurethane googles.

Baze Malbus costume worn by Jiang Wen in Rogue One

Jiang Wen plays \'Baze Malbus\' who was a guardian of the Temple of Kyber on the desert moon of Jedha along with his best friend and moral compass \'Chirrut Îmwe\', who become embroiled in Jyn and Cassian\'s mission against the Imperial forces.

His overalls are a lightweight cotton, his armour made of polyurethane, boots leather and his gloves and neck seal made from repurposed

Chirrut Îmwe costume worn by Donnie Yen in Rogue One

Donnie Yen\'s blind spiritual martial arts warrior monk \'Chirrut Îmwe\' is a strong believer in the Force, although he isn\'t a Jedi.

I couldn\'t get the best photos of his costume because of the reflective glass and lighting, but his jacket is a dyed suede with sandwashed silk trousers and skirts of textured cotton. His boots are leather, as are his baldric and belt set, whilst his armoured pieces are made from polyurethane.

Hopefully all these costumes will be on display out of their reflective display cases in the future and I can get a better look at them, but stay tuned for a glimpse at

Ben Mendelsohn\'s Director Orson Krennick Imperial costume and other Stormtrooper armours from the film that were also a part of the exhibit.
