I feel like tons of people say it all the time but I don't think acting like you hate everything and everyone is cool.

What are your thoughts?

I'm a major misanthrope and say it all the time. Not because I'm trying to be "cool", but because society frustrates me.
I don't care how other people say/use it, though. Whatever. Not my business.

People are the best.

@8thegreat: Right but I feel like there's a huge difference between saying "I hate people" and "I hate that our capitalist economy destroys the environment and enforces class divisions and patriarchal norms" or "I hate that societal beauty standards make women feel inferior" ya feel? The second two are (obv) things I can totally get behind while "I hate people" (to me) seems immature because it targets /people/ rather than /systems/. It's lazy and unnecessary.

@tamore You're right, there is indeed a huge difference in saying that one hates people and one hates societal structures, and I do mean to say that I hate people. It seems the problems I have with society seem to differ greatly from the problems you have society. Not that this is a bad thing, far from it- a difference of opinion is okay and I respect that.

When I tell you I hate people, no matter how sarcastic or happy i may seem at the time, you'd better believe that I am completely serious about every syllable.
