Hello, everyone. Antonia here, and I decided to do a blog on preguntas I'm frequently asked about being asexual. As I mentioned in the Introduction Blog, I am asexual. I first discovered that when I was fourteen. I was bullied in school because of it. If you're not sure what asexual is, this should educate you, (I hope). Here it goes.

1. Q: If you're asexual, does that mean tu don't date?
A: No. All asexual means is that you're not sexually attracted to anyone. Romance is totally different. Some asexuals are aromantic, but some of them are romantic. Romantically speaking, I could go either way, but I prefer males.

2. Q: Are tu an alien?
A: No, I am not an alien. If tu want to see aliens, watch a sci-fi film.

3. Q: Since you're not dating someone, are tu lonely?
A: No, I'm not lonely. I have friends. Friendship can be just as rewarding as romance, if not more. Honestly, the only reason I haven't dated is I'm afraid of getting hurt. I've had good friends who have been hurt in romance, and I know it could very easily happen to me.

4. Q: How do tu know you're asexual?
A: tu just know. That's really difficult to answer. There are different types of asexuals out there, and in the end, tu know how tu feel. Don't listen to anyone who tells tu otherwise.

5. Q: Do tu think you'll change your mind when the "right person" comes along?
A: No, I won't change my mind. Asexuality is a sexual orientation, not a choice. Besides, the "right person" would understand my needs and desires.

6. Q: If you're asexual, does that mean you're repulsed por sex/the idea of it?
A: No. Sexual orientation and sexual desire are actually two different things. I am repulsed por the idea of sex, but I don't reject it entirely.

7. Q: Are tu asexual for religious purposes?
A: No, I'm not even religious. I'm spiritual, though. Asexuality is not celibacy. Celibacy is a choice. Asexuality is not a choice.

8. Q: What is the worst part about being asexual?
A: Probably the ridicule I've faced for it.

9. Q: What is the best part about being asexual?
A: I'm not sure. I guess the fact that it makes tu an individual.

10. Q: Does it annoy tu when people misconstrue your being asexual?
A: Yes.

I hope tu enjoyed this blog. There are más blogs to come.

Peace and love,
-Antonia
When Joanna woke up the siguiente morning, she felt desperate for food. She stripped the bark of a nearby árbol and found some insects. They were disgusting, but since it had been five days since she had eaten, Joanna didn't care. She drank from the stream to wash the taste of insects out of her mouth. She then pressed on to find her way back home. She found the steep colina where she had fallen. She struggled to climb the hill, but she managed to make it to the top. When she made it to the top, she stopped to rest. In her sleep, she had a dream about the afterlife. It was beautiful, unlike anything...

It was summer, but Joanna couldn't enjoy it. Because of her taste in música and her beliefs, she faced criticism. Not only was she being knocked down por school mates and neighbors, she was also facing criticism from her own family, save for her parents. One day, she dicho to herself, "I can't take it anymore. I have to run away. I doubt anyone will miss me when I'm gone." Without a segundo thought, she ran into the forest behind her house. For the first three days, Joanna was happy to be on her own, away from all the criticism and insults. However, on the fourth day, she began to feel a bit lonely....

One day, Joanna and Millie were hanging out at Joanna's house. Joanna's grandparents made a surprise visit. They acted friendly upon meeting Millie, but they gave Joanna a stern look when they saw the letters, "L, G, B, and T" on Millie's shirt. Oh, no. This couldn't be good. After Millie left, Joanna's grandparents simultaneously asked, "Joanna, may we see tu in the kitchen?" Joanna followed them in the kitchen. That never meant anything good. Her grandfather said, "Your friend's a queer, isn't she?" Joanna said, "They don't call them queer anymore, Grandpa. Besides, Millie doesn't like to...

One day, Joanna was walking through the neighborhood. It was a cold January day, and as she was walking, she encountered some of her schoolmates. They started throwing misceláneo objects at her. She ran as fast as she could, and as she ran, she looked behind her. Unfortunately, there was a rock in front of her, and she tripped over it. She tumbled down the hill, into the frozen pond. The ice was very thin and broke beneath her weight. She could barely swim, and the ice was too thin for gripping. She cried for help, hoping someone would hear her. Just when she was about to give up, she heard Paul's...

One day, Paul and Joanna were hanging out with their friends, Ian and Millie. Some bullies started making fun of Millie. She was often bullied because she was homosexual. They said, "Go get hormone replacement therapy, tu fucking queer!" She began to cry. Ian said, "She doesn't need hormone replacement therapy! She's fine the way she is!" Joanna said, "That's exactly right!" Paul then said, "But tu all need attitude adjustment therapy!" The bullies were stunned. Joanna said, "Look, if you're opposed to homosexuals, that's fine, but don't curse at her and tell her to get hormone replacement...

As the months passed, Joanna and Paul became quite close. One day, Paul dicho to Joanna, "I think it's time I tell tu something that I haven't told to, well, anyone." She said, "I do, too. I'll let tu go first." He said, "You remember that I was adopted por an American family last year, right?" She said, "Of course." He said, "Well, I have yet to tell anyone what happened to my parents." She asked, "What happened?" He said, "My father was killed in a car crash when I was young, so I never spent much time with him. I did spend a lot of time with my mother, especially since I was an only child....

Cedar Valley is located in the Bible cinturón, correa of the United States. This small town is full of bible-thumping Puritans. A small percentage of the population is different. An eighth grader por the name of Joanna is one of the different ones. Because she was a dissenter, one who disagrees with the bible-thumping Puritans, she was often bullied. One day, she was beaten. The school nurse dicho she was fine, but she was really bruised. After school was dismissed, she sat on the bench in front of the school to wait on her mother. One of her school mates sat beside her. He dicho in his English accent, "Hi,...

One night, I was talking with one of my friends. I said, "I'm going to tell tu something that I don't usually tell anyone. It was the segundo worst part of the eighth grade, the part I didn't include in my story." She said, "You can tell me anything." I said, "During the last six months of my seventh grade year, I ended up with endometriosis. The following summer, I had a hysterectomy. At the beginning of my eighth grade year, I told one of my friends. Later, she wrote in one of the bathroom stalls, 'Catherine is a slut puppy.' That nickname spread like wildfire. I'm...

One morning, during the summer, I noticed something wasn't right with one of my dogs. My Labrador, Sadie, seemed very lethargic. She did not want to eat o drink anything. I felt of her stomach, and it was really hard. My uncle took her to the vet, and it turned out her stomach had bloated. The vet tried to empty the blockage, but to no avail. The only humane thing was having her euthanized. As if that wasn't bad enough, I got a call from my friend, Sally, asking for me and Gavin to come to the hospital. I asked, "What's wrong?" She said, "You remember when I was treated...

One day, I received a call that Gavin was hurt. I went over to his house to see if he was okay. He had a big cut on his face. It was deep, but he didn't need stitches. He has some bruising around the cut as well. I asked, "What happened?" He said, "I was opening the car door, and I accidentally hit myself in the face. I fainted when I saw blood." I said, "I'm sorry. I hope that heals up soon." He said, "I'm sure it will." He was left with a scar on his face. The one good thing about it was that he gained some respect. When I got beat up near the end of the school year,...

One morning, I got up, and I opened my bedroom door. All of my perros were sitting there except my husky, Diesel. I thought, "It's not like Diesel to go off por himself." I called for him, but he never came. I went downstairs. I looked in the living room and saw him lying on the floor. He wasn't moving. I walked up to him and started talking to him. He didn't respond. I knelt down beside of my beloved dog to check for signs of life, nothing. I fell on parte superior, arriba of him and cried. I said, "Diesel, please don't be dead! You've been my buddy for twelve years! tu can't die!" I told...

Sometime later in the school year, Gavin's father and mother went on a business trip. Gavin stayed with me and my aunt and uncle for the week. It worked out, because Gavin and I go to school together, and his dog got along with my dogs. That Monday, our school día started out well. Sometime after lunch, some of our schools mates shoved us in the janitor's closet and locked us in there. It was really dark, and I got really scared. I was on the verge of having a panic attack. Gavin said, "We'll be okay. Someone will find us soon." I calmed down some. Not only was it dark...

Spring Break came, and we got a week off from school. One morning, I got up, but then I fell down the stairs. As I tried to get up, I felt a sharp pain in my right knee. I couldn't get up. I cried for help. My aunt ran to me. She asked, "Are tu okay? What happened?" I said, "I fell down the stairs, and my right knee hurts. I can't get up." She helped me up, but I couldn't walk. She said, "I need to get tu to the hospital." I had to wait for a long time at the hospital. I could understand why, considering there was a man who had a corazón attack there. Still, the fact...

It was Valentine's Day. My friends and I made Valentine's día cards for each other. After school, we all met at Jennifer's house to exchange them. I was careful about what I wrote on some of them, because not all of my friends understand my humor. The only ones who do are Gavin, Jennifer, and William. The card I made for Gavin was a classic example of my humor. On the outside, I wrote, "It's Valentine's Day. I got tu a card." On the inside, I wrote, "This is the inside of it." Gavin laughed until he cried when he read it. He said, "Oh, Catherine, always funny!" I said,...

One día in January, it was snowing. I said, "I swear it was warmer at Christmas." Gavin said, "I know. It felt más like May than December." Pretty soon, it was getting really cold. I said, "It's colder than I can stand right now. I think we should go back inside." Gavin said, "I agree." As we were going inside, Gavin slipped on a patch of black ice on the driveway. I asked, "Gavin, are tu okay?" He said, "Yeah." He got up, and I noticed that he was limping. I said, "You're hurt." He said, "I'm all right....ow!" I said, "But you're limping." He said, "Maybe I'm not...

Our sophomore año was a good año for the most part. Gavin and I didn't get bullied much. The few times we did, we usually took up for each other. One day, Gavin was sick, and he couldn't be there to take up for me. Some bullies mocked me and pushed me down the stairs. Jennifer told the bullies off, and William helped me to my feet. He asked, "Are tu okay?" I said, "Yeah, I'm okay." I was a bit upset. When I came home, I put on some Beatles música to make myself feel better. I felt better, and one of my friends even told me a joke. She said, "What is the difference...

One día during the summer, I decided to visit with Gavin. When I made it over there, his dog, Oliver, greeted me. I said, "Hi, Oliver! Where's Gavin?" The dog led me to Gavin. Gavin was resting under the árbol in his backyard. I said, "You look comfortable, Gavin." I expected him to say, "I am," but he didn't. Oliver licked his face, but he didn't stir. I thought, "Oh, God! Has he passed out?" I knelt down beside of him and gently shook him. "Gavin!" I cried. "Gavin, are tu okay?!" He opened his eyes and said, "Good morning!" I said, "Gavin, don't scare me like that!...

It was summer, and one day, Gavin came to me crying. I asked, "Are tu okay?" He said, "No." I asked, "What's wrong?" He said, "My grandfather just died." I said, "Gavin, I'm so sorry." I hugged him. He continued to cry. I understood how he felt, since I had lost Pops less than two years earlier. Despite my fear of heights, I decided to fly to Liverpool with Gavin. His father asked, "Are tu sure tu want to do this?" I said, "Gavin was there for me when Pops died. It's my turn to be there for Gavin." His mother said, "That's very sweet of you, love." On the plane,...

One night, I heard that there was going to be a meteor shower. Bonnie, Gavin, and I went up a colina that was overlooking the high school, as it was a dark hill. After we saw the meteor shower, we looked down the colina towards the school. Bonnie said, "Ya know, that school seemed so big when I first started attending it, but looking down on it now, I realize how small it really is." I said, "Really?" She said, "Yeah. It seems like just yesterday when I was a freshman like tu guys. Now I'm just four months away form graduating." Gavin said, "That's crazy. This time next...

It was the last día of school before navidad Break. At one point, I noticed that I was having some pain in my right side. Gavin asked, "Catherine, are tu all right?" I said, "Yeah, I'm just fine. Why?" He said, "You're actuación like you're hurt." I said, "Oh, I'm just having some pain in my right side. I'm probably bruised from where I slipped and fell on a patch of ice, no big deal." Jennifer overheard me and said, "Look, I'm not a doctor, but tu should definitely go see one." I said, "I think I'll be okay. I'll see what happens tomorrow." The siguiente day, the pain...
