One Direction Announces New Album Four, Releases "Fireproof" Song: Listen!

Directioners, rejoice! The men of One Direction surprised fans with some big news on Monday, Sept. 8, announcing their plans for the band\'s fourth album — appropriately titled

— and releasing a new song with the news of the upcoming project, "Fireproof."

Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson teased the news via One Direction\'s official Twitter in the early hours of Monday morning, writing, "Anyone get the feeling this is going to be a big week?"

They then released a video of the band making the announcement. "As you know, we\'ve spent the last few months on our stadium tour," Horan said in the clip. "But, we\'ve also been working on our next album."

Styles then chimed in, adding, "We\'re really proud of it, and we hope you won\'t mind us sharing a track with you… The track is from our brand new album,

follows One Direction\'s pattern of yearly November album releases. The band debuted its last studio album,

in November 2011. All three projects have gone multiplatinum and hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200. 

The pop stars introduced their well-titled fourth album with the new song "Fireproof." Horan added of the new music, "It\'s one of our favorite songs, so hopefully you are enjoying it! And can\'t wait for you to hear the rest of the album."

The poppy, guitar-aided "Fireproof" has the British boybanders crooning, "\'Cause nobody knows you baby, the way I do / And nobody loves you baby, the way I do / It\'s been so long / It\'s been so long / Maybe you were fireproof / Cause nobody saves me baby the way you do."
