A unicorn would be my next choice, because the addition of flight or magical abilities is kind of irresistible to me, however...being an Earth pony would rock, too. They have their own types of less-obvious strengths (physical, resourcefulness/connection with the earth, strength in numbers...! I'd want to be like Applejack...strong and confident and capable of dern near anything! ;)
But there's just something incredibly appealing to me about being quadrupedal, and having the ability to take off and soar anywhere, at any moment, under your own power...there's such grace and beauty in that. (Not to mention working with weather, and the possibility of creating rainbows!) Besides, wings are just such awesome, useful, expressive, mobile, appendages! ^w^ They can even be used to hold things. And my fursona is a feathered Saluki; why shouldn't my ponysona be feathered as well? ;D
And then of course, there are Alicorns...the very rarest of all...;)

Earth Pony'
I make a pony called BlossomHooves, she can run and spread some scent of blossom, when attracted with her, she will jump to a random land and she escapes, and a monster plant appears to eat other stupid and rival ponies. She known as ruler of earth, when a forest are 50% lost, she can use seed wind to grow various trees, She has known ability called earth power, she can expand the body of earth
And here also the counterpart, the pony called AquaBlast, she known having ability to walk on water in high speed that more high than cheetah, she can expand the sea level
Pegasus Pony
I make a pony called Moonlight Pegasus, she can change the time to night, she lives in the sky pavillion, she can control the time besides the counterpart, Sunshine Unicorn, she can track the power called Aura and if it hits either sky body, the time will changes. She can use Air Lock to prevent weather appearing.
Unicorn Pony
I make a pony called Sunshine unicorn, she can change the time to day, the sweets will increase the power to make the brighter sun, she can use the Aura energy by shooting trough her horn. Her and her counterpart, Moonlight Pegasus are known as guardian of daylight and Moonlight in sky pavillion. Sometimes they comes to the earth, when her and her counterpart are can embodeying knowlegde, willpower and emotion, they can grow bigger, her horns are used for slashing when she grows bigger, they known as Guardian of universe becaus they also known to control space becuse they gained the ability
Pranking might be easier in some respects for Pegasi or unicorns, but Pinkie proves conclusively that [almost] anything they can do, Earth ponies can do (sometimes better, lol.)
I decided to make the pick a little more challenging and only give a choice of the three common types. ;) (that's also why I didn't put an "all of the above" option, that and it'd contradict the initial question of which one you would rather be)
You can teleport when your a unicorn.
