Despite completely selling out every show, the North American leg of the tour was reportedly making substantial losses of $4 million. This was due to the complex stages and array of costume changes during the show. Gaga spent $500,000 on one stage alone, with an appearance on the British talent mostrar The X Factor - which featured Gaga performing Bad Romance in a giant bathtub, costing £52,000.

On Thursday 14th January, Gaga was forced to cancelar her appearance in Indiana after falling ill, minutos before the mostrar was due to start. She had passed out beforehand, and was complaining of feeling "dizzy" and had "trouble breathing". She apologised to her fans via facebook and Twitter, saying "Can't apologise enough for how sorry I am. I could hear my fans cheering from my dressing room, I begged everyone to let me go onstage...I hope tu can forgive me. I amor my little monsters más than anything, tu are everything to me.
