Yeah, um, not mean at all is he? Sorry but it annoys me when Snape fans are so blinded by positivity about Snape that they think EVERYTHING about him is good and that he has no flaws. Just because he's your favourite character, just because he got bullied by James, just because he's extremely brave, it doesn't mean he's NOT mean. Oh I forgot, he's positively lovely in the quotes mentioned above, and others.

Severus was an asshole. No denying it. But he wasn't physically. Umbridge was both physically, mentally, and emotionally abusive. And that, to me, far outweighs anything Sev could do.
