How can Gwen, one of the shows sort of protagonists, "nice" girl, sanest person, down to earth, and the one who should know how Courtney is feeling and thus be a little more empathetic/sensitive towards Courtney (seeing as how she nearly experienced the same thing when she thought Trent betrayed her with her mortal enemy) just make out with someone else's boyfriend and then shrug off the other girl's feelings after she finds out.
