I love both

This one actually made me cry (I mean...no.)

I haven't seen the third yet.

The animation is great, and I really prefer Ariel in the spunky theenager role than in the worried mother role...

They're both awful, but I thought the third one was a REALLY weak premise.

For five good reasons:

1. Ariel should not have been made a mother. (Don't kill me, it's just my opinion! O_O)

2. She was almost completely out of character.

3. They shouldn't have even bothered making a sequel, or at least not like the second one.

4. Poor Flounder. I couldn't even recognize him. That's all I'm going to say.

5. Eric. Was voiced. By Rob. Paulsen. HUGE NO!!!!! That was HORRIBLE!!! Great voice for Yakko, yes. But for Eric? THAT WAS UNCALLED FOR!!!! They could have found someone who at least sounded a little bit like Christopher, but Rob Paulsen?! Okay, give her a teenage daughter. Make Flounder grow up and have kids. But do NOT do that to Eric. I firmly believe that the people in charge of this movie were making fun of Eric's character and gave him Rob's distinctive goofy voice for a laugh. >:-(

By far! The 3rd one is awful....

Both are really, really bad.

The second one was just horrible.
If anything can make me go ballistic except for teen pop music, it is Ariel in the mother role.

The second one is absolutely awful IMO.
Third one is okay where Disney sequels are concerned.

They both made me want to throw a large brick at my TV but at least the second one's plot was a little better.

I don't really like either, but I had to choose the 2nd one over the 3rd solely because it was a complete waste of a movie. The 2nd movie actually gave us some story that was palletable. But Atlantica not having music for most of Ariel's life? Come on! Plus, the story they gave of Ariel's mother was completely rushed and stupid. And not including Ursula was a HUGE mistake! I know it was supposed to be about Ariel, but I would have loved to hear about Ursula's backstory and why she was banished from the kingdom, and she would have been a much more interesting villain than Marina De Ray who was voiced by SALLY FIELDS!!! No, one of the most annoying voices in Hollywood. The one high point of the movie was that the animation of the 3rd movie was beautiful, but it loses major points for story and completely contradicting everything that "The Little Mermaid" TV series set up.
