I thought this was a decent compromise.

Cable swear words would be: hell, bitch, damn, ass

Non-cable swear words would include: shit, fuck, and any racial slur

Basically, if it's an animal or is mentioned in the Bible, then it's OK.

Not that I follow the Bible generally.

If kids don't hear it at tv, they'll hear it from other kids.

Why we feel the need to exclude the use of certain words is beyond me - people are WAY to sensitive.

it's not the words that matter, it's how you use them. so i'm a conditional "yes".

But I gotta tell ya - no matter what 'rule' is set for this spot, I will follow the PG-13 rule of Fanpop.

All words allowed, as long as it isn't excessively so.

That'll do, doc.

The thing is, the so-called "rules" are really just guidelines. There are no real consequences if you "break" them. And really, I personally don't give a... Well, I don't care if you swear. ;o) And I hate censorship too. So it's not like I (or anyone else for that matter) is gonna run around with a big "BLEEP" sign and hold it over all the cuss words. Even if I could, I wouldn't because I really don't care that much.

The point BEHIND the rules is respect. And since everyone here seems to have that, I don't really see a problem.

So I'm closing all these picks. The rule stays as it is because I'm too lazy to change it, but I think you all know how things stand. Basically, do whatever the fuck you want.

And there, I said it.

It's about time TV started to relax about censoring things. I was watching Scrubs on E4 (a British channel) and they filtered SO MUCH! I mean, they weren't even allowed to say "threesome".
