Even if they were born so early they couldn't hear see or feel pain? That would be hardly life, therefore it would be cruel to put someone through that

It's up to any person to make their own judgement, I couldn't judge someone for having an abortion because they have their own set of standards and rules. I myself don't think I could abort a baby unless it was severely disabled, even if it was unwanted, there are always parents who want children and can't have them who could adopt them, but I'd have to try and raise it myself if at all possible :)

problem of abortion isn't really the act of abortion... 93 percent of abortions are due to people who may want kids but can not afford to raise it.... the problem is not abortion but real problem is almost the same problem that is in every issue which is the differences in wealth and people's lack of love for others which causes that difference...
One thing about disabilities is that if everyone where to have and abortion because of that then people like Helen Keller, or even Beethoven would never have been born..

By alive I meant it's not born and hasn't even heard or seen anything. That is an opinion but not mine, I believe that it's alive from when it can choose to do things, like grab a hand during surgery (like Scrubs and House MD) or turn away when light is shined on the womb.

You have to think of possible consequences for your actions. The surest way to not have a baby is abstinence until marriage. Otherwise, use protection every time and if someone still happens to get pregnant, be prepared to deal with it. Give it a home or give it up to adoption. But, please, don't kill it.

I can understand why a woman would like to get rid of her mistake. But I think it should be by adoption not murder!!! Because in God's eyes NO ONE is a mistake.

I cannot agree with abortion. To me, it is killing a baby. Burn the scientific stuff pro-choicers try to throw at you.

I'm with you MajorDork74. We should all pray for the women who have made that sad choice. For only through God's healing will they ever feel his love and forgivness. That decision must of been a hard one for them to make and I pray they feel the guilt enough to turn to God for forgivness. And start their healing.

erintozer, a embryo does not even look like a baby at 6 weeks. It's only at about week 10 they start to develop fingers and toes and even then they're webbed together.

Oh yes, and btw, Helen Keller was born perfectly healthy, but lost her hearing and sight after an illness when she was two. Beethoven was also healthy, he only started losing his hearing in his twenties. And modern tests can't determine if babies are blind/deaf until they are born.

I think blackparade's option is very good, too. I think that the most important thing is to be careful, to try and use the most effectives contraceptives. But they are not 100% secure, and something could happen, and in that case, if you don't want to have it, because you are not echonomicaly ready or phisically ready or other, or you were raped, idk, then there HAS TO BE AN OPTION!

Yep. When a woman gets pregnant, there is a living being inside of her. It may not have been born yet, but it is alive and has a heart beat, which is how doctors tell how many children there will be. So it is murder. But this is also something that faith has nothing to do with.

The only way I would accept it would be if a young girl got raped and if she had birth she'd die. But if she won't have health issues, she should have the child. I've heard many great stories of blessings that came from the tragedy of rape.

Though I'm totally against abortion, I picked this one because there are rare cases when instead of the fertilized egg implanting in the uterus, it gets stuck in the fallopian tube. In those cases, if the baby isn't taken out, both the mother AND the baby would die.

It's still a terrible thing, but I guess you could call it the lesser of the two evils.

And I also believe that we shouldn't judge girls who have had abortions. They need love, comfort and prayer, not more guilt.

Even if they weren't in a position to care for it, that is not an excuse. Adoption is available. No one is forcing you to raise the child. Even if you don't believe the fetus to be alive, it is impossible to ignore the potential of life. It's such a terrible thing to take away an entirely innocent third party's chance for life.

The fact is, abortion is often used as a form of birth control.
I'm not saying it is easy, nor undermining any mental and physical consequences the women may suffer afterwards, but the above is true. Not all women are careless about other birth control, but ultimately people have to own up to the decisions that they have made. If you make the adult decision to have sex, you must be prepared to deal with the consequences. I realize that it is a woman's body, but, again, ultimately she made the decision to have sex.

What's even worse is the rapidly increasing number of abortions for the reason that their child is not the child they want. Many parents abort their child when they learn that it may have Down Syndrome, etc. They want an "ideal" child, so they are willing to abort to avoid the responsibilities of of a non-ideal child. If you are really ready to be a parent, you will love any child you are blessed with, in spite of the fact that he/she is not perfect.

I have been completely against abortion as you know God invented the world and has a plan for everyone, he knows you before you are born and therefore knows each foetus. However i was discussing the issue with a friend and they challenged me about rape. If a women is raped then would it be fair for the child to grow up from an act of violence rather than beginning from an act of love. I mean if you are christian or are anti-abortion then you will love this child, however they will always have that label and memory of an horrific time and therefore in this circumstance, and only in this circumstance I would be pro-abortion

Well, a woman having the baby even if she's going to die in the process is like trading someone's life for that of a fetus that will most likely be stillborn or have serious medical conditions. And plus, it will force the dad to life as a single father. It's better to spare the mother and just try again.

So do you think it's God's plan that an unborn baby is murdered as well? I think you are missing the point here. Just because terrible things happen does not necessarily mean that God caused them to happen or that he hates people. Satan is a key player here.

We also need to remember that life isnt easy and sometimes God will throw crap in our lives to test our faith. Look at Job in the Bible: everything was taken from him because Satan believed he could get Job to renounce his faith.

If the fetus had an exceeding low or no chance of survival outside the womb due to a disorder, disability, syndrome etc. then yes, I'd accept an abortion as a solution. It would be just as, if not more, devastating for a mother to give birth to her stillborn son/daughter.

If the mother's life was in crucial danger and the cause is directly her pregnancy, then yes I am acceptable to abortion being a solution. It's better to save one life instead of losing both.

But outside that, I am not for abortion due to many reasons that actually don't really have so much to do with my faith.
