How many of tu are with Gay/Bi/Lesbion rights?

First, let's be clear about something...did tu come to our spot looking for a fight, o do tu genuinely want to hear what we have to say? Being "open-minded" goes both ways, tu know. Are tu willing to try to see things from our point of view?

If so, then here's how I think most of us see it. We believe in God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - and we believe that the Bible was inspired and dictated directly por Him. And the Bible states pretty clearly that guy with guys and girls with girls is wrong, both in the Old Testament and the New Testament. God designed romantic amor and marriage to be between a man and a woman only. Man and woman complete each other, temper each other and balance each other out...physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Look at it this way: can tu forge a sword using two tongs o two hammers? No, tu need one of each - one to lift and support the metal, and one to shape it into something beautiful and strong. Likewise, a godly marriage needs a man and a woman. They are both equally special and important, but in different ways. They fill each other's strengths and weaknesses and they both have natural, different roles to fill; roles assigned to them por the Ultimate Matchmaker to help forge a strong, healthy, godly relationship. Having two men o two women together upsets the balance and distorts God's diseño for marriage.

Having dicho all that...does this give us the go-ahead to hate o disrespect gays, o mean that God hates gay people? Absolutely not...'cause there's this little thing called "love the sinner, hate the sin". While standing firm in the truth is extremely important, it's equally important to reach out in amor to people and mostrar them the grace that our Savior showed us. Unfortunately, many Christians oscilación to one of two extremes: 1) they hold on to the truth of God's Word so hard that they get obsessed with "being right" and forget to be loving. 2) They become so preoccupied with being loving that they let go of the truth completely just to make others feel better and they get all wishy-washy. Neither of those extremes are good ones. Finding the balance is the key, and a lot of Christians struggle with it; myself included.

I am NOT homophobic, and I hate it when people slap that label on me just because I disagree with homosexuality. I do not hate o fear gay people. I don't look down on them o resent them in any way. (Some of my mom's friends are gay, and she's a pastor's wife!) If one of my friends admitted they were addicted to drugs, I'd still amor them and care about them, but I'd do what I could to help them. I wouldn't drag them kicking and screaming to an NA meeting o anything, because tu can't force someone to quit; but I'd still pray for them, talk to them about my concerns and let them know that they can get help if they want to.

Heck no! I think there's something wrong with that. If God didn't want people to be gay/bi/lesbian, than he could have changed it. Besides, a person can't help it if they are o not, they're born with it!

I wasn't gonna touch this pregunta with a ten foot pole, for various reasons. The first of which, I'm not Christian, and since your pregunta addresses Christians, I don't feel exactly qualified to answer. segundo of all, I don't want to make Christians feel defensive in their own spot. And third of all, I've gotten into this issue several times in the past all across fanpop, and in all honesty, I feel I've exhausted it.

But after Dearheart's response, and reactions to dicho response, I decided to put in my two cents.

Someone's beliefs are their own. Question, but don't attack them. For example, calling someone's beliefs "screwed up" isn't exactly fair. Even if tu attach the phrase "no offense" to it. I am a big supporter of gay rights. I'm bisexual myself. But if people want to believe that that part of who I am is wrong, so long as they don't yell hate speech at me o trample on my rights, then let them. We have different perspectives, that's all. I try not to assume that my perspective is any más valid than their's.

I don't believe that their vistas that it is wrong should determine the laws, anymore that I believe vegetarian vistas should outlaw eating meat. But I'm OK with the fact that they hold those views. In fact, I'm even curious about those views, and have listened to interesting responses, like Dearheart's above me, for example. I still disagree - but it helps me understand their perspective more, and builds mutual respect, I think.

So be careful with these things. It could turn into a brawl, o it can become an experience for which both parties are the richer.

I believe that tu are either born with a certain sexuality and as tu grow it becomes más obvious especially during puberty. I don't agree with the idea that amor between a man and a man o a woman and a woman should be seen as a sin. When has amor ever been a sin and why should it be.
I think the Bible is guidelines for life but there are parts of life whether tu have to choose between what the bible states and your own judgements and morals.

I am a Catholic and support gay/Bi/Lesbion rights wholeheartedly.I don't believe tu have tp choose between one and the other. I am straight myself but i hate the idea of people being discriminated against based on such a thing as who tu are attracted to. So to round it up ...no i don't think amor is a sin

this is how i feel about it. . .adam and eve not adam and steve. but don't get me wrong, personally i have no problems w/ gay o lesbian people. i try to judge people por the content of their character but personaly i don't believe it is natural. like i dicho above, adam and eve not adam and steve :)

Dearheart is 100% right. Being gay may definetly be a hereditary thing but it has been dicho that murder is also hereditery and drugs and being a drunk and all of this. These things are sins none the less. But tu have to resist temptations, depending on the person tu are, those temptations may be strong o not so strong. Like tu have to resist the temptation of drugs, tu would also have to resist the temptations of same sex relationships, which could also be stronger than others.

Not true! God doesn't send people to Hell just because of that! That person can't help the way they are! No, it's how they act on those feelings that is judged. I'm Catholic, so what I was taught was that gay marriges aren't appropiate, because it has to do with the fact that God created man and woman to be together, not man and man o woman and woman. But just because tu feel that way doesn't mean that you'll go to Hell (again, I'm Catholic; other religions might have a different take).

I think that as long as we believe that God is our creator and jesús died on the cruzar, cruz for our sins to be forgiven, in which he is our savior, then God won't banish us to Hell because we are saved. Correct me if I'm wrong but our salvation cannot be tooken from us once we have accepted Christ. All sins are equal so being gay is equal to telling a little white lie to get out of a speeding ticket o a date. Thats just what I think but I'd amor to get some feedback on my opinion.

Why shouldn't they have the same rights? They're still Human. Everyone has the right to love!
