hun, everyone is a sinner. even Christians. no one is perfect except for God. athiests know there is a God but they choose to ignore Him. i am a sinner is God's eyes and so are tu and everyone else. we will always sin but there are más things we don't do as Christians that atheists do. we are different from everyone else but still are sinners. so are they.

Nice answer. Just a clarification. tu said, "athiests know there is a God but they choose to ignore Him." - Atheists would beg to differ. They actually believe very solidly that there is no God. They wouldn't say they're ignoring Him, because they truly believe that He does not exist.

now i am not going start arguing with tu but i was told that everyone has to know there is something beyond ourselves that made this earth. everyone has a knowledge of that but they don't want to believe it. that is how charles darwin came up with evolution is because he didn't want to believe in god. thats my opinion. tu may beg to differ.

OK, I accept that opinion, but I still disagree. I don't mean to argue either (such a dirty word!) I just want to discuss it. I'm just saying what ATHEISTS believe. I'm not saying who's right o wrong. I don't think anyone can say with authority what other people know o don't know. If tu feel like tu know there is a God, then I respect and admire that. But not everyone is as comfortable to say that. In fact, I struggle with the opposite. Every day, I worry that life is meaningless, but convince myself that it can't be, that there must be order and that we must mean something in the great scheme of things. But that's my struggle. Also, I wouldn't say that I KNOW there is a God, and I also wouldn't say that I'm ignoring Him if there is. Actually, I believe very firmly that I am absolutely ignorant of any mysical workings of the universe. I believe that I do not nor can never know if God does o does not exist. But like I dicho - that's my philosophy.

Also - Every individual Atheist believes something different, and only an Atheist can tell tu what she does o does not believe, and what she does o does not know.

(Agnostic answering here, but - )

I think that, to Christians, the problem with atheists and nonbelievers isn't necessarily that they are sinning, just that they haven't "seen the light" so to speak of jesús Christ.

If they don't know about Christianity, then I don't think they can be sinning. Just like in law, tu need to know what you're doing for tu to be considered guilty. However... I do think that some Christians believe that if tu know about Christ and choose not to believe in him, then you're making a mistake. I don't know if they go so far to say it's a sin - maybe they do, maybe they don't - but that doesn't mean that Christians don't respect atheists.

That's my opinion, though. I'm not exactly the most qualified person to answer, but those are my thoughts on the subject, from a Christian perspective.

I think that it's a sin when they say things like "I hate God", o something like that; basically whenever they offend God. But if they grow up not having a religion but respect those who do, then it's not a sin and it's not their fault that they were never exposed to religion.

I am an atheist, and I choose to be - not because I have not been "exposed" to Christianity, but because I truly believe there is no God. I have read the Bible, and while I believe many of the stories, teachings, etc. are good, I cannot agree with many of the ideas it contains. The idea of "God" is not necessary for people to behave responsibly. When humanity first formed communities, they quickly realized that if stealing was OK, then no one would work - if tu ever accumulated anything, your neighbor would take it from tu - so why try. If lying and cheating were OK, then tu could never believe anything anyone said, and contracts would be impossible. If adultery was OK, then no one would know who the father of any dado child was - and very few men would "own up" to the fact that they had any children at all. As a result, children would not be provided for. Many of the ideas presented in the ten commandments are good ideas - NECESSARY ideas if society is to function. Atheists realize this, and most are very "moral" - even in the Christian sense. So, are atheists sinners? I suppose that depends. Some will cheat, steal and commit adultery - just like many Christians do. Some will be very "moral" - from a Christian sense. The concept of "sin" came from the Bible, so if tu do not believe in the Bible, tu probably do not understand the word "sin", but tu certainly would know the meaning of adultery, lying, cheating, stealing, etc. and in all likelihood, tu would consider all of them wrong.
