Does the avatar lose thier powers when they have kids?

I don't think so because as soon as that would happen, wouldn't there need to be a new avater, also impossible unto the old one dies?

the avatars powers are part of him. if he had kids he would still be the avatar becuase thats his bending ability-all of them. if he other benders can have kids and not lose their bending, the avatar wont either.
