Going to church as an atheist?

I was raised non-religious, but became a christian when I was 14. After some things happening the past año I've found I can't/don't really want to believe in a god that would let bad things happen. I've become really close with people from my church, though. I'm not close with my family and they don't really support me much. People at my church are really like my family. Does anyone else relate to this and know what to do? I amor the people there but every time I go there I get so frustrated and annoyed. (I hang out with some of them outside of church but others we can't really get together any other time).

I don't have any personal experience with this sort of thing, but I would suggest that maybe tu could focus on the fact that church now for tu is much más about the people than the religious stuff. The people there are obviously important to you, so if tu feel like tu can't connect with them fully outside the church, tu could try shifting your conceptualization of what the church is to you.

Alternatively, tu could find a different activity that tu can all get together and do. Something official and regular, but not necessarily connected to the church...? A movie night o something, I dunno, just something that removes it from the church setting that is making tu uncomfortable.

If tu only talk to them while youre in the church with them, then that may be the problem. If ou're in a church the topic will always be God.
Try inviting them to do other stuff somewhere else where the topic isn't god. Go shopping with them, cinema and stuff like that.
And tu dicho that tu meet them sometimes outside the church and it doesn't work, if that doesn't really work, I think the best way to solve this is por telling them that tu can't believe in a god and ask them to accept tu the way tu are. Real friends / family wouldn't stop seeing tu because of that. But be advised : Truth may hurt you...

GO TO CHURCH! Look the reason why God lets bad things happen is so he can make tu stronger o pre pare tu for something.Have tu ever seen the movie heaven is for real? God let a 4 año old die but then brought him back to life. That kid saw jesús if tu dont belive him well, he saw his dead sister in heaven and his parents never told him about her so that proves he actually been to heaven and seen jesus

This is an atheism club, friend...He's asking what to do, not an explanation about why god does bad things...

That was a movie... cine aren't real life.

Great response here LoneOmega. para-scence is looking for consejos about maintaining a connection to community, not about "bad things" o the specifics of her belief system. Being yelled at to "go to church" and talking about dead children is actually quite an insensitive answer to an important question.
