“Epsilon, are tu sure this is where she was?”
Delta sat on the edge of the roof, watching out over the dimmed lights of Trinity for any signs of trouble, o even just a flame. Eric was pacing on the roof as well, glancing over the edge. “Yes, yes, I’m very sure..”
“I don’t know, man...”
“It’s a possibility.”
Both Delta and Eric whirled around at the new voice. Red Revenge stood there, glancing over the city himself, arms crossed. “I saw the news as well.”
“Were tu invited?” Eric questioned, glancing to Delta out of the corner of his eye. The teen made an innocent gesture, as if she was saying don’t look at me.
Red didn’t respond, only continued watching over the landscape.
“Yeah, that’s was I thought.”
A couple segundos later, Eric was sitting of the edge of the roof with Delta, while many others watched behind them, including Fang, Aisling, Rowan, Tanner and Ciel. “What, did tu invite the entire damn team?” Eric hissed to Delta, who rolled her eyes.
“No... Just Aisling...”
“And the others?”
“We watched the news too,” Ariel spoke up. “We noticed her signs in an instant. It’s hard not too.”
“Well, maybe you’re learned.”
Time seemed to stop when they all recognized a voice from behind. They turned to find her hovering there, with a pair of-
“Wings? What the heck?”
She dropped, the wings on her back disappearing. “They’re only temporary. What do tu want?”
“Straight to business, I see,” Fang muttered, then glanced up at her. “We’d like tu to come back to the cave.”
“Can’t.”
“But Fin--”
“I’m not Fin anymore,” she hissed out, her eyes seeming to ignite with golden flame, then she calmed. She seemed to glow against the dark city, standing out from the background and from anyone else in the group.
Tanner took a step forward. “Please, we need tu back. It’s just not the same!”
She glanced over at him, then turned to the city. “No.”
“Well, at least talk to your father, so he’ll quit bugging us about this?”
“I’m sorry, Red, but I think you’re mistaken. I don’t have a father. My father is dead,” she spat, venom lacing her voice, but didn’t turn to face them still.
Eric stepped forward. “You can’t just ignore this!”
“I’m not ignoring anything, Eric.” She looked over her shoulder, her oro eyes blazing angrily, but sorrow written in them. “I’m sorry.”
She stepped towards the edge of the building, but not before send a blast of heat behind her. Most of the team members on the roof held a hand to their face to protect themselves. Eric, Delta, and Aisling looked around confused when they noticed the others’ hairs seemingly being blown back, but they felt nothing. Delta shook her head, confused. “What happened?”
“I froze time,” Kyra explained, and smiled for the first time that night. “I’m so glad to see you...”
She hugged each of them individually, placing a kiss on Eric’s cheek. “We’re glad to see tu too... god you’re warm...” he muttered.
She giggled. “I’m always warm now.”
“Will tu please explain!” Aisling yelped out of nowhere.
The smile dropped. “If only. There will be a time, Ash. I promise. Just... not now. Not here. Get out of the city, as soon as possible, and come back to my flat when tu can.”
“Where’s your flat?” Delta asked. “How do we find it?”
“That’s easy, you’re standing on it.”
“And if Bat--” Eric stopped when Kyra seemed to glow brighter, and the flames in her eyes returned. “Sorry, he asks about where we were?”
“Tell him the truth. Tell him tu came to see me.”
“And what do we say about you? If you’re not Fin anymore...”
“Were tu not there when I left?” She winked and stepped back near the edge, and the blast of air finally reached the three of them. Time resumed, and everyone looked back at her.
“Call me Phoenix.”
With that, she disappeared into thin air, leaving nothing but a pile of ash and a oro feather.
Sorry if I didn't get the characters correct, there were some that I haven't written with yet, so, yeah... :3 Cliche ending makes everything better.
Phoenix: No it doesn't.
