W.I.T.C.H. Article: Why I Like Nerissa

So I know for a fact that most people hate Nerissa a lot. However I think she's a really freaking awesome villain and a really cool character.

I'll start with the silly reason first. I know pretty much the entire fandom disagrees but I think Nerissa is the prettiest character in the series. I amor her hair so much, the long dark curls, beautiful. And her eyes are fabulous too, a great shade of blue, great shape, suiting to her character. I also like how they drew her mouth in the comics if that matters. And then her dress is also pretty great I amor how it's a pinkish color--like she's evil but she wears rosado, rosa because she's that badarse! It kind of reminds me of a Greek mythology style dress, I like that very much. Oh and also...
we (the very small Nerissa fandom) don't discuss that one time when she was an old woman. :3

So how about a less shallow reason. I like her because she's smart. She knows what she's doing and she does it well. She's a really good manipulator and uses that to her advantage. Nerissa was also able to escape a nearly impossible to escape situation, and she was able to restore her own youth. And even before that she had the brains to make some minions so she wouldn't have to go in and fight until she had the strength to do so herself. In regards to the libros she was able to trick and manipulate Will into just handing over the Heart. That's crazy smart. And she always seemed to have a back up plan. I do enjoy a villain with smarts, one that doesn't just go right into things without a plan.

She's also powerful. I enjoy a villain with power. Even without the corazón she had the ability to get her hands on Caleb and as mentioned above restore her youth and make life out of lifeless things. And she had the power to posses Matt and take the corazón all without the power. And then when she got the Heart...she was able to lead a five man...monster army and engulf Candracar in a black ooze. She's just kick-butt.

And last but not least I amor a villain with depth and complexity. Nerissa was just well-written. An ex-guardian, once good, corrupted por power. That's always a fun back story and it was played out wonderfully. I thought it was really cool how even though she only had one arc we got a glimpse into her her life prior to being a guardian, like how she used to play the flute. :3 Just simple things like that really make me enjoy a character.

SilentForce Great article.I agree with you about Nerissa being the prettiest character in the series.Nerissa is just epic in both the comic and the tv series.Not only does she have the power of Quintessence with which she can give life to inanimate objects and use it to attack people with electricity but she can also attack the W.I.T.C.H. girls in their dreams.She is even more powerful tv show because she can also brainwash people.I prefer the comics but I love how Nerissa disguised herself as the Mage and Trill in the tv show.Nerissa has been with the W.I.T.C.H. girls the whole time and they didn't even notice.How much cooler could it get?.The only thing that I dislike about the comics is that we didn't get a"C.H.Y.K.N"special that would show how the C.H.Y.K.N. girls became guardians,the enemies that they fought and how Nerissa actually was before becoming evil.It would be awesome to see Nerissa kicking ass as a guardian lol.There was a time when I was actually obsessed with reading C.H.Y.K.N. fanfictions and I love the fan-made C.H.Y.K.N. comic of Galistar07water on deviantart but it suck that she doesn't have time to finish it.

zanhar1 Indeed, she's a wonderful character. She was probably one of their most powerful enemies. I loved her ability to invade dreams, that was just neat to read about. Ikr, how did they not notice that lol? Clearly because Nerissa's just clever and badass like that. I did rather enjoy the plot twist of her being Caleb's mom. That always disappointed me too; I really did want a C.h.y.k.n. spin-off or at least a simple special or two. I want to see little high schooler Nerissa! Omg, I was reading those too, they were awesome.

SilentForce I also love the fact that Nerissa is Caleb's mother in the tv series.The moment when Caleb found out from his father that Nerissa was actually his mother was so dramatic.My absolute favorite scene from season 2 was in O is for Obedience when Nerissa tried to get Caleb to join her side and then wanted to destroy him for disobeying her but then Julian comes and says"No you wont harm our child Nerissa.If our love could create this magnificent son than there must have been some good in you...Once"and Nerissa is like"And just this once.I will let you both go but cross me again and they will be no mercy".That scene was just awesome because it actually showed that there is still some humanity left in Nerissa.I must say that I prefer Nerissa's ending more in the tv series.I mean yeah it sucks that she is forever stuck in a beautiful illusion but at least she is happy lol

zanhar1 That was a really neat scene, kind of added some depth and what not. Same here! Her T.V series end is much better...mostly due in part to the fact that she didn't die!

MirandaJessen Oh my god i thought i am the only one who loves Nerissa! She is so amazing and wonderful even though she is the enemy. Her ability is just incredible and she NEVER gives up!
