If tu were to ask me who the best classic superhero is, my answer would certainly be the Batman. In the 1940's, Bill Finger gave batman the heart, charm, creativity and colorful imagination that made the character stand-out amongst his superhero companions. In the 1960's, William Dozier and Adam West took the batman franchise to new levels of greatness. While batman became even más popular in later decades, batman started losing the wholesome charm and colorful campiness that made the character so wonderful in the first place. In fact, batman has run the risk of becoming a depressing, unlikeable character in reciente years. In a comic called batman Odyssey, there's a scene where Alfred's being a little snarky to Batman. Batman's response is to tell Alfred to go to Hell. Plus, the ten issue mini-series All estrella batman and Robin is one of the most mean spirited and offensive things I've ever read. In other words, modern batman is kind of problematic. While I eagerly await the día DC gets a batman that properly represents the corazón and creativity of Bill Finger and Adam West, hope isn't lost and neither is true justice. There's a superhero that was created to be a icono for young girls and to sell a lot of toys, but has become so much más in reciente years. I'm referring to Adora, also known as She-Ra.
She-Ra may not be a new creation, but I believe she's the best superhero of the modern age. This is thanks to Netflix's She-Ra which took an inspiring icono and made her an even better role-model than she already was. I'd like to lista 5 things that make She-Ra stand out amongst the countless amount of superheroes we have in our modern age.
1. Adora (She-Ra) is passionate about what she believes in, but is also open-minded
When someone is grown up being taught to believe in something bad, it can be hard for that person to change their beliefs. Adora was separated from her birth family. She was raised por the Horde, an evil organization that wanted to take over the planet of Etheria and get rid of anybody that stood in their way. Hordak, the leader of the Horde and Shadow Weaver, Adora's mother-figure, spent years tricking Adora into thinking that the Horde was a noble organization who was trying to stop a misguided rebellion. In reality, the Horde was evil and the rebellion was a group of princesses who wanted to save their homes and people. When Adora learns the truth, she is able to accept reality and abandon the Horde. She stopped believing in the Horde's deception and became the leader of the rebellion she was trained to fight against. Making such a big change is something most people were afraid of. It wasn't easy for Adora, but she managed to pull it off.
2. She's a true hero as both Adora and She-Ra
It can be hard for a superhero to be heroic when they're out of costume. A lot of modern versions of batman have Bruce Wayne getting into semi-romantic relationships with women he's not actually interested in, in order to fool people into thinking he's a sleazy playboy instead of a dark superhero. While that might help protect his secret identity, it makes Bruce look like a jerk for toying with women's emotions and deceiving them into thinking he loves them. As to be expected, She-Ra is a very strong and helpful hero. As Adora, she's also strong and heroic. Both the original She-Ra mostrar and the reboot go out of their way to prove that Adora's a hero even without her powers. As Adora, she provides her team with the corazón and hope that she needs. Also, she's a strong warrior even without transforming into She-Ra. This makes her a great, down-to-Earth role-model for real people.
3. Although She-Ra prepares the worst, she hopes for the best
It can be hard to be properly-prepared for situations without getting a little pessimistic and it can also be hard to always think positively without becoming too optimistic to be prepared for anything negative. Adora has to deal with the planet of Etheria being taken over por the Horde. It's a very serious, dangerous situation, but Adora's no quitter. She knows things can get better and she knows she and her friends have what it takes to save the planet. Although she's prepared for betrayal and peril, she keeps believing in a better tomorrow. In a lot of ways, She-Ra is the symbol of hope that the original version of superman was supposed to be. Like Batman, Superman's become a darker character in reciente years. While the She-Ra reboot is más serious than the original show, the mostrar is not dark. If anything, She-Ra's become a más hopeful character than ever before, because she deals with bigger threats than ever before yet she remains optimistic and hopeful.
4. She's a great mix of serious and playful
In modern times, it's become common for superheroes to follow under 2 specific categories: dark, edgy, intense heroes and heroes who are so silly that they feel like a parody of heroes. The original She-Ra cartoon was done por Filmation which was a studio that had a habit of making shows that were campy, but in a fun, adventurous way. Also, their shows often good lessons for kids. The She-Ra reboot is a product of DreamWorks and Netflix. They managed to keep the corazón of She-Ra alive, while doing new things with the character. The modern version of Adora knows how to act appropriately in various kinds of situations. When she's on the battlefield o is having an important discussion with her loved ones, she is serious, caring and thoughtful. When she and her friends are hanging-out and having fun, she's playful, witty and a joy to be around. Adora is the type of person who would be a good person to fight alongside with, as well as someone who would be great to be friends with.
5. She-Ra's a progressive character for a progressive generation
One of the biggest changes that the She-Ra reboot made was changing Adora's sexuality. In the original show, Adora had a crush on a male ship-captain named Sea Hawk. Although Sea Hawk is in the reboot, he's been changed to a comedy-relief who is interested in Princess Mermista rather than Adora. As for Adora, she was turned into a lgbt icon. A lot of shows and films have tried to be progressive por having characters be gay, but they often do this with characters who have a limited amount of screentime . Also, they're usually very secretive when it comes to having gay characters. The She-Ra reboot made the daring choice of making their protagonist a lesbian. At first, the mostrar was subtle about this. However, as the mostrar went along, it became clear that Adora only had romantic interest in one character, and that character was a woman. A lesbian superhero starring in a mostrar for kids shows how progressive modern animación has become. Adora serves as a positive reminder that it's okay to be gay. What matters isn't one's preferences. What matters is being a good person which is a point that Adora represents.
