To the readers,
If anyone starts telling tu that you're crazy for planning your wedding months o years in advance, then plug your ears. 'Cause they're dead wrong.
I have a friend that's getting married in August, and it may seem unethical to some people, but she has been planning and working on her wedding for two years. Her reason? She's making most of the decorations, food, and clothes. She may have a solid financial situation, but that doesn't mean she can't save as much money as she possibly can to get married.
She first started with theme, then location and how her theme works around it. She then got on the type of decorations she could incorporate into the regular wedding "requirements".
Her venue is a sort of do it yourself place. tu put things up tu take them down. In order to make the smallest amount of work for herself and the breakdown crew she decided to make her own flores out of fabric, and instead of arroz she made flags for the quests to wave.
She had a friend make her dress and she made all the accessories for the guys and girls, plus the outfits for the ring bearer and flor girls.
She did run into some road blocks, to where she had to scrap a few ideas and put in something else. Some of her ideas were not exactly kosher with the time she expected to put into it, so she opted to do something simpler. And other times where she had a better idea then the first.
She gave the wedding party specific instructions about what type of dress she wanted each of us to wear. I got right on that with mine and the dress I found was good in the picture, but a disaster on me. Luckily the bride actually had a dress that she dicho was OK to wear and that she had just forgotten about it because she never wore it anyway.
Even now a mes away from the fecha she needs help from her maids to finish certain plans and projects. Don't underestimate that this should be well thought out and it WILL take time.
I'd like the person lectura this to get some insider info about how it's OK to take your time, no matter what kind of wedding tu want. So ignore the people that say you're crazy, because they aren't considering that something in your plan may go awry o that tu need the extra time to think out every possibility and see if your plan is the right one for you.
Hope this helps.
