If tu don’t like Damon because he kills people, tu should dislike Stefan just as much.

I will start off by saying that Damon is one of my two favourite characters on TVD, but when he's done something bad, like kill someone, then no, he doesn't deserve forgiveness, especially, if there is no purpose in doing it. For example, if he or others are being attacked and there is no other solution. Do you really think Elena will be with him if he keeps doing this? I don't think so! Yes he might be in pain, but that is not any excuse, though I will say him being a vampire will make this hard. The reason why I'm harder on Damon, is because I can see better out of him, as I want him to be that good vamp (without losing that badass personality of his) and because he wants to be with a human girl, he has to adapt and work on it to make that change. I'm proud of him, so to speak, because he is trying to make that change, slowly, but i'm not willing to make any excuses for him, when he's messed up, he needs to understand the consequences of his actions.

I'm not a Stefan fan at all. Your right, there should be no excuses for him either as we know he has had his struggles with blood and know one can pretend that, but he is a good vamp, who swore off blood, not wanting to take it and leaving that old life behind. Yes, he used to be a ripper, but in a way, we can't relate to that, because of the guy we know and have seen on our screens and I think that is what makes the difference between the two brothers, because of the person, who they are now. I won't comment on the future ripper till season 3 comes back on, because, we don't know how much they are going to show. Though I will say, my feelings towards him will probably be much the same as it is for Damon.

What Stefan done for his brother was not irrelevant (but thats your opinion). Stefan made a huge sacrifice, knowing what would happen to him and this just shows how far he is willing to go to protect his brother, even if it is a cost to his own humanity and this is saying something, considering how their relationship is. Stefan has shown that he does believe in him and that he is worth saving.

I know someone, who took the blame for their sibling and got punished for it, but that is what a lot of others would do for their own family and that is a part where people can relate to Stefan. Yes, this is a fantasy show, but it also has emotions, that we can understand and relate to, even though the other side is complete fantasy.

Anyway, I see your point your trying to make, but if your a fan of one of these two, it is not going to change peoples minds. As you said it is only a show.
