I amor both characters. I may not agree with every decision he makes, but Damon is easily my fave character. I absolutely adore Elena and she comes in a close second.

So, actually, if I'm being honest, most of the DB fans just can't understand that the libros and the mostrar are two completely different things. Probably they can't accept that and never will. I'm not a fan of the books, so I don't know their dynamics, though I do know that in the libros DB have this sort of connection and thing for each other. Well, okay..but in the show? ROFLMAO much? I’ve heard quite a bit about Katherine only wanting Damon for the challenge – and, I’ll admit, Katherine likes playing games with Damon a lot más now that he gives as good as he’s getting – but I see some…not-so-crackfic changes in Katherine’s behavior that, to me, say a bit more.
