Problems with the PC game...?

1.) Sometimes in the segundo level the monkeys aren't effected por my meow until I commit a suicide.

2.) In the third level (Elephants' Graveyard), at the rising lava bit, the lava doesn't rise. There's only one of them and it as I start jumping up it starts booming as if it was coming after me but it doesn't. Yet it should, and I think there should be two of them and not just one at that point.
In the Sega version it is that way but I seem to recall the same from this PC version too.

I don't know, what the heck? 'Cause I really don't remembe either of those problems from back when I had the game in the '90s. The game I play now isn't the same copy but...

Argh!

Would someone who owns a legal, purchased copy of the PC/DOS game, please tell me if tu have those problems with it?

Could it be caused por a too new computer and having to play it in a DOS-Box? I'm so not gonna buy back an ancient computer just to play DOS games...

UPDATES: I found pausing (or "pawsing" helps with that monkey problem). But the lava problem changed. Now, sometimes it's like that and sometimes there actually is two lavas that rise after me as there should, but then they rise so fast that there's absolutely no way I can get away fast enough. WHAT THE **** is going on??!! x() Also, once in the middle of the third level it disappeared and the DOS-Box dicho something like "ran out of target lista memory". What the f-! Thank goodness it was only the third level and not the last moments of the last level...

AND at the "Do tu wish to continue? YES o NO" bit with Rafiki, is it supposed to choose QUIT jus por moving the paw to the "NO"?? I constantly ACCIDENTALLY push the arrow to the right and it quits though I would've wanted to continue!!! Why doesn't it wait until I push el espacio o enter!!?? F**K!!!!

I have a legit DOS version that I played in the '90s and I think it did all of this back then too! I've tried it on DOS-Box since but that doesn't seem to have done anything either way.

The monkey glitch used to drive me crazy - I remember that happening a lot on the DOS version. That said, I do have the Megadrive version too and I don't recall it ever happening on there.

I also remember the glitch where the rising lava had disappeared, but it definitely didn't happen anywhere near as often as the monkeys not responding. I never found out why it happened though. The continue glitch was annoying too. I don't think I've ever had the problem where the lava moves too quickly though.

I also remember something weird happening on the level, "Be Prepared" (I think it's level 8?). Sometimes, right at the end of the level, the rocks that are supposed to fall down and cover the geysers never actually appear, meaning tu can't complete the level!

To answer your question, I don't think your computer o DOS-Box is the problem. The DOS version just seems to have a lot of bugs.

I had three versions of the game, and the DOS version was the only one I ever had trouble with. The Sega Megadrive one worked fine, and so did the Amiga one (the Amiga one only had seven levels though and no Timon and Pumbaa bonus levels - funny enough "Can't Wait to be King" was one of the levels it excluded).

Sorry I can't really give tu a real solution to these problems. Do tu still have access to the Sega version? Going back to that one would probably be the least frustrating way around it, if possible.

I did have a legit copy of the DOS game back in the '90s and played it a LOT...but I don't recall having any problems with it. Which is why I was so surprised with these multipe problems with the copy I have now.. Yes, I do own a legit copyr of the Sega Mega Drive version and play it mostly on my Sega console...It's más pleasent in movements too...the flip mover is so easy with a 6-burron controller...Whereas in the PC version it seems to be pure luck if it works and I'm still not sure what the button combination is... :D Anyway, thaks for the answer - it helped some por confirming that the problems do exist on other legit copies. It seems I'd just forgotten all about them, but then again it had been almost 20 years since I last played the DOS version before recently.

I think ya'll should get the nintendo version of The lion king. It works a whole lot better. Without any glitches. I know I've tried both.

The Seaga Mega Drive / Genesis version functions just as well as the SNES version. :)
