When someone makes a roleplay that involves a plot, they want things to go according to plan. This is understandable. But one the main points of a hosted roleplay is to focus on the guest, the person who is answering the roleplay.
Now in no way is having a plot to a roleplay bad, I always use plots in mine, but it should never be linear, o at least too linear. If ever tu make a roleplay, and notice that the plot of it gets to the point where there really are no decisions for the other person to make, then one should probably make it into a story, not a roleplay.
I recently took part in a roleplay where my character was apparently becoming consumed por some capa demon, and despite the character’s abilities that would allow the character to escape, my actions were ignored, with the reply I got being “NO NO NO NO NO!” and the person basically saying that I was not allowed to do that. And when I tried to explain to the person, they ignored me completely, and continued with the roleplay as is my character had not acted the way I said, and instead how they want.
Firstly, If there is a problem, o a situation, where the abilities, o skills, o actions, of a character can defy what the person is trying to do in a roleplay, it should not be cut out, and instead worked around.
Secondly, if your roleplay needs these things to not be allowed, say so at the beginning, o when it happens if tu don’t think of it, and not with just “NO NO NO NO!” That is both immature and offensive. Especially if tu just cut them off and keep going, without asking if they were okay. And I was not okay with what happened with my character, and thus I was tempted to simply act like my character had escaped their way, as it was possible according to the roleplays logic.
Thirdly, Again, working around the actions, keep open room for the person to do what THEY would like to do in a roleplay. If tu are taking control the whole time, they aren’t going to have fun, they’ll simply get annoyed.
I compare controlled and linear roleplays to an animación short I saw por disney on the Bug’s Life movie. An old man is playing Chess, and he is playing with himself. He goes back and forth, pretending like there’s another person, when really he’s the only one playing. Back-seat-driving.
This can lead to situations where people say things like “Your character feels attracted to this person” and the person playing not being allowed to do something about it.
Now, wanting to keep things from straying too far from the goal of the roleplay is fine. And it doesn’t always mean the person doing this doesn’t like your idea, they just don’t want to lost focus on the real issue o event.
If tu want to give nudges like “Probably should have them investigate the coal mine.” o say “Not to offend, but we need to stay on topic.” If tu do stray away too far, it can ruin the roleplay because the person who made it feels like their idea is tossed aside.
If tu have an open world roleplay, such as a simple dating roleplay, o fighting some villain and meeting people along the way, it’s all fine, and I always try to make my roleplays stay as open world as I can, but with all plot-related roleplays, tu don’t want to force the events, and tu don’t want to completely lose the main focus.
Many times when the focus is lost, the roleplay just drags and drags and ends up nowhere. This is fine, after the main plot is FINISHED, so if tu want to go open world after Mr. Overlord is defeated, that’s completely fine, but going to the cine while the arch nemesis (stars…) is wrecking the city might even make tu forget that happened, and if the person who made the roleplay remembers, they’ll probably be keeping quiet to be polite.
And now we have the back-seat-driving HERO, where basically it’s “Your character does nothing while I can do it only”. I would say this is a Gary-Stu situation, but it doesn’t always have to be. This is also what happened to me in the reciente roleplay, where after my points and actions were completely ignored, some hero jumped out and “saved” my character, then the person I roleplayed with made the character leave, and end the roleplay before I could say anything about it. In a anterior roleplay I did with this person, they just dicho “End of roleplay” then deleted it before I could reply.
tu can probably see what I’m getting at here. If tu are so desperate to have things done your way in a roleplay, that tu will basically plug your ears and run away so that they can’t challenge what tu have to say, then guess what, tu did something wrong, and tu insult the person who took their time to do your roleplay because they thought it looked interesting.
Finally we have the last part of the “No-effect-whatsoever” scenario, where the “Hero” will do whatever they want, o the plot will no matter how illogical o unexplained. As I explained already, I explained how my character would get out of the situation, and there were no parameters given, with only ONE of the powers the character used being somewhat blocked logically.
If someone goes *Walks over to your character and says hi* and they just say *the character is gone* with no explanation prior, that is unfair. So suddenly they just disappear? The SAME person, again, dicho that the character used teleporting, but that was AFTER they dicho *gone* even though my character approached them. It was annoying and a cheap move. I did let it go because they explained it, but I’m pretty sure they just got lucky por pulling out the teleportation free card, as my character could not follow them that way.
If you’re not able to agree to do these things, and the other person’s character is the equivalent of a throw-rug that gets his o her mouth covered every time they try to talk, then maybe tu should have made that roleplay a story, since the other people’s input does nothing. It saves time, and emotions, especially annoyance.
Hope that helped, if tu have preguntas o opinions, feel free to say them in the comments.

This is basically just a lista of all of the Acid-Monsters in existence as of this very moment. I have this here just in case my computer crashes. (I'm super paranoid about that.) And before tu say something like "This isn't part of this fanbase!" Yes it is, and if tu do say that, tu weren't around when Yxari Sadaris first came out as a character. Acid-Monsters originated as a Mobian species.
So, as of today:
Full-Bloods--
Paris Blake
Almodea Blake
Albus Anguis (Owned por TheTacoMan)
Jakob Enu
Milo Smalls
Melik (owned por TakTheFox)
Ryker (owned por MephilesTheDark)
Yxari Sadaris
Yukari Nale
Ana-Luisa Oliviera
(Ana-Lysa and Sayofrick-- deceased.)
[You can only make a full-blood if I like tu and tu get my approval.]
Half-Bloods--
zorro, fox (soon to be a full-blood)
Nazareth Runner
Rynk (Owned por TakTheFox)
[Room for discussion as to making a half-blood...]
