My parents did NOT look happy. Francisco turned pale. I nearly screamed. Since when did my parents care about my safety? The cops actually looked like they didn't want to take me. They looked, sad, almost sorry for me.

"Are we under arrest?" Francisco squeaked out.

"No." One of the cops said. "But tu will be returned to Paris." Francisco took in a deep breath.

"And you," the cop turned to me. "You, young lady, will be kept in close eyes of your parents." That put the whole plan on a stop. What could I do?!

"We've been circling the globe looking for you! You're all over the news! What were...

"This means we have to go somewhere they would never think to look!" I said.

A bus passed by. There was an ad on the side.

EXPLORE THE AMAZON! TICKETS CHEAP! CALL 1-800-BUY-AMAZON!

"Are tu thinking what I'm thinking?" Francisco said.

"If you're thinking the Amazon, then yes!" I exclaimed. I pulled out my phone, called 1-800-BUY-AMAZON, and bought two tickets. "Okay, we have $2,000 in total, and the tickets were $30 each. That leaves us with $1,700 to get to our siguiente destination."

"Okay." Francisco said.

Then, the weirdest thing happened. I felt a lump in my pocket. Rose petals. The pattern...

Francisco proposed on my eighteenth birthday. Jennie cried when I told her. But she was horrified at the idea of us moving out. She insisted we stay. So we did. Francisco and I got married three months later. Jennie also met someone of her own. She and Hector got married a año later.
So now, here I am, pregnant. It's a girl. Jennie's having a girl. She and Hector want to name her Vicki. Whenever we can, Francisco and I take short vacations around the world, like when we were kids. Our job at Jennie's uncle's restaurant is really fun. We're kind of famous chefs, known around the world.

Since Francisco told me he liked me, we talked more. A lot more. Sometimes into the night and almost morning. One día on the boat, we snuck out of our cabins and headed to the cocina for a midnight snack. We almost got caught por the night guard, but ducked under the mesa, tabla just in time. Oh, how we laughed, and almost got caught, again. Two days later, we docked in Tokyo. It was a long walk to the sushi shop, so we took in the sights. We passed por a movie studio, and saw people dressed as ninjas! They even gave us an autograph! Hopefully the movie is successful, o we wasted five bucks each...

I nearly cried. My trip was going perfectly! The train passed por a pizza place, and just like the bakery in Paris, it was successful, but needed help! I was going to get the money for Tokyo easily! The train stopped just around the corner of the pizza place. Francisco told me on the train that he also spoke Italian, but not Chinese. Tokyo was going to be a problem. But I decided I could just buy a dictionary in a gift comprar o something.
The same scenario as in the bakery occurred here in the pizza place. But even better! A lot of locals spoke English! I was going to get my money like THAT!...

Hugo's eyebrow twitched when we approached. Francisco dicho something in French to Hugo. His eyes widened and asked me a pregunta in French.

Francisco translated. "I told him tu wanted the job. He wants to know if you've ever made a crepe."

I looked at Hugo and nodded. He laughed and handed me a rose. Before I could ask any más questions, he handed me an delantal and a spoon. Then Hugo pointed at Francisco.

"He wants to know if tu need me."

"Yes!" I said. "I need tu to translate the orders."

Francisco nodded to Hugo and was also handed an apron. "He says I have to cook too."

So we both...

Paris was gorgeous! And the smell! Oh, I could walk por the bakery a thousand times! There was a sign on the door. I didn't speak, so I checked my French-English dictionary. Help Wanted. Great! So I had a shot at my goal! There was only one thing standing in my way; like I said, I didn't speak French.

"Excuse me, do tu speak English?"

Startled, I turned around. There was a boy. He spoke with a thick French accent.
"Y-yes." I stammered. "And tu are?"

"Francisco. tu won't understand my last name." He gasped. "You are the American everyone is looking for!"

"Ssssh! I don't want people to know...

I was only thirteen when I ran away from home. The house I called "home" didn't feel like home. It felt, it felt like no one understood me. So I packed my backpack with my ten favorito! outfits, three pairs of shoes, and some comida to last me a week. I had been saving up my allowance for the last year, so I almost had enough to buy me that plane ticket I needed. To get it, I would need another fifty dollars, so my only solution was to sing in the streets. For a week, I sat outside of Wal-Mart, with only my guitarra and backpack. When I played my guitar, passerby's put dollars in the case. At the...
