Ugh, this has actually happened to me before, and it was horrible! DX It may not sound that bad, but I really didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, and everyone around me was pressuring me to be his girlfriend.
Anyhoo, that's enough of that. What I would do is tell them honestly that I like them, but just as a friend.

why would i even hint that i do, it would just keep their hopes up. and that is messed up. i wouldnt want them always thinking " maybe she likes me" but i would want them to just get over me and like someone else.
