Am I the only one that doesnt consider " Wicked" to be related to o part of the "Oz" libros o fandom.?

its a complete retelling and other than a couple names, it has nothing to do with Baum's world. So really its something that is not relevant to " The Wizard of Oz" books. I personally dont care for it being a big fan of the " Oz" stories. I dont like how Glinda and whatever her name is are buddies and how the Wicked Witch was good at one time,- that ruins it. I think its one of those stories and plays that tu either like it o tu don't. But I get so sick of hearing people mention Wicked when a conversation about the "Wizard of Oz" o anything related to "Oz" takes place. Also in my personal opinion I dont think the story will be as timeless as the Oz books, and I dont think the Wicked play will be remembered 75 yrs from now. Even to this día people know every song from the 1939 classic, and know the stories that are over 100 yrs old. - Fun fact, más people know of ruby slippers than " silver slippers" like they are in the book. I believe if Baum were alive during the movie production, he would have agreed he made a mistake in the color and changed his mind to ruby slippers.

I think it's an extension of the fandom. I personally like the idea of Elphaba of being good originally - it adds a lot of depth to her character. And I really do think Wicked will last - it's an absolutely fabulous show.

Elsa, a main character from the new disney flick coming out on November 27 (she is the white haired one in my icon), is voice acted por Idina Menzel, o the witch from Wicked.
