Chances are that only the box got wet and the styrofoam inside absorbed all the water, because brand new things are always packed well. If not then fully make sure every component is dry before using, and if it doesn't work then I guess tu could maybe take it back to the store and tell them that it was the rain but check and do your actions immediately rather than putting it away for later.
