Is "War on bullying" even working?

Teen/Kids will bully till the earth dies, so should they stop war on bullying o keep it going.( I don't think telling a Teen/Kid to stop bullying is going to work.)

I think it has had some half-assed results. In spite of anti-bullying policies, my daughter still left her school because the homophobia was intolerable.

I think it's a mover to make parents feel like something is being done. You're absolutely right in that bullying will continue. It goes on with adults as well; it's just a bit más sophisticated.

Plus so many negative attitudes are learned at home. It's not like tu can go door-to-door and tell people to stop turning their kids into assholes.

I also tell my kids that I don't care that they have a smart mouth. Being quick-witted is sometimes enough to stop a bully por embarrassing them. Being quiet is the worst-I know that from experience.

I agree. I am currently being made fun of and harassed at school, and I feel like I'm growing distant and betrayed por some of my friends. it doesn't work.

I don't think it's working. A bully won't really stop until someone kicks their ass, sorry to say.

I doubt it, since when does any kind of policy work on this planet? Bullys just need a kick in the face and someone to stand up to them... They always turn out to be pussies as well. XD

Y'know, I read an articulo in TIME magazine a while hace on how effective some anti-bullying programs are in the US, and from what I recall, they weren't really very successful. These anti-bullying programs also were funded with government money, so it was kinda like "throwing our money away". And y'know what else? Things have gotten so desperate that if you're accused of being a bully in NJ that that will mostrar up on your permanent record and I believe that tu can be rejected from some institutes because of that. Y'know, if I've remember the articulo correctly.
To be honest, I don't think anti-bullying programs are going to work. The victims might not have the strength to confess what's happening to them, while the bullies will deny the fact that they are in any sense a bullying. We can't just use an anti-bullying program. I think what we should do instead is watch how children behave while in their elementary school years. Bullying can happen there, but it is probably less harmful than it is in junior high o high school. And not just that too. Parents and teachers have to help each individual child develop a healthy conscious, one that knows better than to pick on others o do bad things. We don't need so much money to be wasted.
As for the war, yes, bullying will continue to go on. That doesn't mean we should stop though. Teens die every año from bullying, children are hurt psychologically, and the path to destruction is opened. I believe if we can at least get them off the track to self destruction (for both bullies and those bullied) we have a chance at helping these kids. Maybe we can't prevent bullying, but we can prevent the damage it does.

Forgive me if I've contradicted myself. It's early in the morning for me and my brain's kinda fried right now.
I've also been the bully and the bullied, so I have quite an opinion on this subject.

People are always going to be racist, mean and just being a pain in the ass.
We can't do anything about it and even the commercials don't help.

I'm fighting in this war against bullying (without the bullying; mind you...I AM trying to change my ways...) and what I've seen is a VERY GOOD improvement. A lot of kids that used to bully each other are now talking and playing games with one another; including them when they go for 'treats' like ice cream and they have reduced the level of violence in most of the schools I've gone to.
I don't know how good it is on a mega-scale; but it's really good here in Winnipeg.
