WTF is hunger games?

Today I saw my friend lectura that book. I asked what was it and she didn't answer. To the all fans of that book, what was it about?

The hunger games is about when it is in the future and the entire NOrth american continent was gone and in its place was the city of panem, in this city there were 13 districts and the capital. the districts tried to overthrow the goverment but failed. district 13 "was destroyed" (people who have read all the libros understand haha) so now each año a boy and a girl between the ages of 13-18 are chosen from each district out of a bowl for a fight to the death. if tu lose tu die if tu win tu get unimmaginable glory and riches. Katnis everdeen lives in district 12 and it is her sister names Primrose (also known as prim) who is 13 (katnis is 16) gets chosen out of her district. Katnis volunteers herself to take Prims place in the hunger games and it is basically her journey through the games and stuff. the movie is coming out march 13 i can't wait for it!

@botchfromhell, Sorry if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure its 12-16s who take part in the HG and Prim is 16, but never mind :)

It's 12-18, not 16.
