What should I do?

I play the Violin. OK? I play the Violin for like...9 years now. And I fucking hate it.

I liked it at first, but now I just want to burn that retarded piece of Wood and scatter the ashes god-knows-where.

The thing is, my mom won't let me quit. I told her I don't want to do it anymore, but she just won't listen. She tells me that "It will be a huge waste of talent" and that "You never know where that knowledge can help you".

toro friggin' horse shit.

What should I do? Fight back and protest (like I did for the last 2 years...) o listen to her and continue taking Violin classes (I have 3 years left) bu hate every fucking segundo of it?

Please note that she's a very I repeat very stubborn person. I had to sit down and talk to her for like...45 whole minutos just to convince her to think things over.

God dammit.

o maybe tu agree with her? Please tell me, and please be honest.

Try taking another instrument. Im taking guitarra now. I mastered violin but halfway through I took on guitarra also, I would definetly see about the possibilty of taking on another instrument

Learning an instrument can actually be beneficial to those who play it. People who know how to play an instrument are actually much más intelligent than those who don't (the más useless knowledge tu know). Your mom might not want tu to quit because she might feel as if it might have been a big waste to let tu play in the first place. Besides, learning the violin doesn't have to be boring. Go off course and learn songs that have nothing to do with what your playing, learn to make the 1-up seta sound on the violin (which will make me extremely jealous of you).

I played violin for 2 years, then quit to tutor. Although I did get money from it, I sometimes regret not continuing with the instrument.

^Neither am I, but that would be hilarious if tu learned how and then made that sound during orchestra class o whatever it's called.

I agree with you, because I don't see the point in keeping something up if tu don't like it, because tu don't enjoy it and will probably give it up anyway when tu leave home.

tu could always take up another instrument. That way you're not wasting the knowledge tu gained por learning the violin, because tu are simply transferring and expanding your musical abilities.

I know how tu feel, because my mum made me go to Highland Dancing lessons (I ask you!) and, even better, tin-whistle lessons. Thankfully it wasn't long before she realised that there was no point in me continuing these classes because I just didn't take them seriously. :)
