Did you know from the beginning that Rollins was going to be a bad guy?

No, I didn’t. He was introduced to me as this just holier than thou, sweet character. Knowing Alison’s backstory as I did, he was kind of coming in to be this knight in shining armor almost. And then I definitely started feeling like there was subtext in the script and I was questioning things.

Does Rollins have any real feelings for Alison at all?

I think as much as Sasha and I tried to find the sweetness in this and develop the relationship, ultimately, she was part of a plan and not a romantic interest for Rollins. It was all part of a bigger con, if you want to call it that. So, yes, it was not, from Rollins’ side, true feelings.

Will it be explained why Rollins and Mary made Alison go crazy?

I think you’ve seen some motivations in the final episode. The Carissimi Group was mentioned, I think that is one key motivation for what Mary Drake and Rollins are doing. I think that as for the wider plot, and there’s obviously more to it, I do think we will explore a lot of the backstory. I hope that we will be able to see how this came about, how Elliott suddenly became British, how him and Mary ended up working together, his relationship and Charlotte…

In the final scene, there’s a guy dragging Alison in the bell tower — is it Elliott? 

I don’t know. I say that as in it’s a question I can’t answer. It’s intentionally ambiguous.

Is it safe to assume Elliott is the one coming for Alison in the flash forward?

I think given the way the season ended and the finale, he’s got to be high on the suspect list.

Could Elliott possibly be connected to another Brit, a.k.a. Wren, on the show? 

I think there is this connection that has popped continuously about England, and more specifically London. I think it’s a very valid question.

How long have Mary and Elliott been working together — since Charlotte’s death or before that?

I think that Charlotte and Elliott’s relationship is something that again, without being too specific, is not something you should assume about. I think it’s very open-ended backstory and is something that will be explained. I think you will get answers, and I would say not to assume too much.

I mean, great. I think the vast majority of actor love to play Machiavellian roles. It’s a really fun role to play. The fun part of playing villain is playing the villain. 

I think there is a lot of darkness to come for Rollins. I think it will be interesting to watch that play out.
