They don't interest me at all. They're just like a nowaday version of Backstreet Boys or N'SYNC who were popular in 90's and 00's, and I would have better listen them, than listen to One Direction.

I just do
in my place the only popular artists are the rap artists and some of the sluty artists like rihanna,lady gaga,madonna,beyonce and others and disney stars
so I don't watch mtv music cause they always put those,and my uncle who give me the music that I love never tell me about those people
and I don't watch tv alot cause every time I do,they put the artists that I hate the most in the breaks so I turn off the tv or turn it to the only tow channels that I watch and it's horror movies channels
and I don't listen to what my mids talke about the music that they love so maybe that's the reason that I don't know them

Funny, I used to wonder who they were, too, but now I love them. XD
