Well, I really wish it happens. I also have strong faith in Ichigo & Rukia's relationship, and I think I've got the correct idea from Kubo, however I may be wrong.
In any case, I've decided to sail in the S.S. IR, and if it sunks I will die with this ship. But if it makes it to the shore, I will be elated, proud, people won't be able to stand near me in a 100 m radius because I'll be hopping and dancing and screaming like mad! I don't have words to describe how explosive and massive my reaction will be, I can just wonder! LOL!

The fandom will surely make a huge fuss, shippers, shonens, everyone, though not in the same way of course. I'm sure IchiRuki would be once again in Twitter TT, tumblr would probably crash (lol!)...Let's just hope detractors don't fall into eternal denial.
