So, I stated my opinion on why Twilight is better than Harry Potter (there are so many haters on here!) and a lot of people wanted specific reasons, so here it is.
First of all, Twilight is about love. Real love. From what I understand, the "love" in Harry Potter isn't much. Edward would do anything for Bella. Die for her. How I see it, I know Ron and Hermionie get together, but he seems like a horrible person for her.
And while I was talking about Hermionie, here's something else. She's a week character. Unlike Bella, who struggles every day. Hermionie has no problems, the only things she has are self-created. She follows Harry into his troubles. Big whoop.
And Harry, unkile Edward, drags everyone arround him into his own problems. That's horrible for someone whose suposed to be the hero!
And Voldemort, he's just violent! I hear a lot of people die, who wants to read about that? I mean, people die in Twilight, but come on, those are small things readers can handle. But Harry Potter? That's just depressing.
The only good thing I find about Harry Potter is that Robert Pattinson plays Cedric. And I have no idea why he did that.
Those are a few of my opinions.

PotterGirl4Ever @KatyLautner u anger me with ur stupidity by saying Harry Potter had no reason to kill voldemort I mean r u griffin pudding me even people who haven't read Harry Potter know that voldemort killed his parents and tried ht failed to kill Harry seriously do u live under a rock I mean coke one everyone knows that!
reneered I LITERALLY STOOD UP IN ANGER AT YOUR POST!!!!!! I'm sorry if this is rude but siriusly (HAHAHAHA HARRY POTTER GEEK JOKE) you think that the love in Harry Potter isn't much??????? While Twilight centers around romantic love and focuses very little on other types of love, Harry Potter has a variety of love going around. There's family love like:
1. Lily and James Potter DIED PROTECTING HARRY!!!!! Lily literally begged Voldemort to kill her instead and leave Harry alone. And that's why he survived the killing curse. BECAUSE OF HER LOVE!!!!!
2. Molly Weasely loves her family. When Bellatrix nearly killed Ginny, Molly killed Bellatrix in a fit of anger.
3. Hermione made her parents forget her and erased all of their memories of her to protect them. She LOVED them so much that she was willing to sacrifice her happiness for them.
4. Sirius Black and Harry had a father/son relationship. They would both willingly give up their lives for each other.
5. Nacrissa Malfoy went against Voldemort's orders to save her son. She risked her life to save him. She was a loving mother.
I could go on and on. Now, there's friendship love.
1. Harry and Hermione's love each other in a sibling way. Harry was there for her when Ron left. Plus, Harry didn't want Hermione to risk her life for him but she did anyway.
2. There's love going around EVERYWHERE!!!!!! EVERYONE on the light side was ready to DIE for Harry. They were ready to sacrifice themselves to create a better life for their families.
3. In the Deathly Hallows, Harry sacrificed himself to save his friends and family. Therefore, he put the protection of love upon all of them.
Do you want me to list more???? I can list a MILLION more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know, just because Harry Potter doesn't center around romantic love does NOT mean that Twilight has more love in it than Harry Potter. And actually, there is a lot of romantic love in HP.
1. Hermione and Ron WOULD die for each other. Just because they don't spend every second making out and ogling each other does NOT mean that they wouldn't die for each other. You know, love isn't finding a perfect person, it's seeing an imperfect person PERFECTLY.
2. Harry and Ginny love each other. They do. Harry just doesn't get Ginny pregnant right after high school.
3. Nymphandora Tonks and Remus Lupin are a good example of true love. Tonks DECLARED her love for Lupin, stating that she didn't care if he was a werewolf or that he could hurt her. She loved him enough to die for him. And she did.
SO, JUST BECAUSE HARRY POTTER CHARACTERS DON'T SPEND EVERY MINUTE MAKING OUT AND OGLING EACH OTHER AND MAKING LOVE, IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT THERE'S NOT LOVE BETWEEN THEM. YOU KNOW WHY THEY DON'T MAKE OUT OFTEN??? IT'S BECAUSE THEY'RE SOMETHING CALLED A PLOT IN THE HP SERIES.
Also, you said that Hermione was weak. Really?????? HERMIONE being weak???? She:
1. Endured bullying and teasing yet still managed to stand tall.
2. Went up against Voldemort tons of times.
3. GOT TORTURED AND HAD MUDBLOOD ENGRAVED ON HER ARM WITH A KNIFE. She was tortured for almost a DAY. That's a billion times worse than being tortured by Jane.
4. When the love of her life left, she cried BUT she managed to stay strong. She still helped Harry find the horcruxes because she was a strong female character and a good role model. BELLA on the other hand turned into a complete zombie. That shows how dependent and feeble she is without Edward.
5. Fought against Death Eaters countless times.
She is A MILLION TIMES stronger than Bella.
YOU are a typical fan girl. Really??? You're saying "Wow you are truly itiotic?" You spelled IDIOTIC wrong. And the reason why we're so anti-Twilight is because there are more HARRY POTTER fans than Twilight fans. You're contradicting yourself a lot. Also, you say that Harry Potter is childish and for people who don't have a life? Well, here's links for famous celebrities who LOVE Harry Potter.

Oh, and by the way hon, Robert Pattinson LOVES Harry Potter. Period.
And you say Harry Potter killed Voldemort for no reason??? That just goes to show you didn't read the books carefully. He DIDN'T. He didn't kill Voldemort. Actually, since the Elder Wand refused to kill it's master the killing curse BACKFIRED and killed Voldemort. So, technically Voldemort killed himself. Plus, if Harry did kill Voldemort, it wouldn't be for no reason. VOLDEMORT KILLED HIS FAMILY and MILLIONS OF PEOPLE. He would kill Voldemort and even kill himself to protect his loved ones. Isn't that the true meaning of love? To be able to make the ultimate sacrifice? Honey, there are so many contradictions in your posts, my head is spinning. Plus, you said that it was "awfully childish of him" when Harry went to save Sirius. You said that he should've known it was a trick. Well, that shows that you didn't read the books properly. Kreacher, THE HOUSE ELF, SAID that Sirius was captured. So, that's why Harry left. Also, there's also a saying that love is blind. Well, it is.
From your posts, I gather that you are a typical fangirl who is mostly shallow. Maybe you have some more sense then others, but in the end, you only love Twilight because you want your own Edward Cullen and not because it has any unique characteristics.
(I mean SIRIUSLY???? A vampire that SPARKLES????)
reneered Plus Hermione didn't leave to search for Ron because he left no traces of where he was going. Also, you know, she had her priorities STRAIGHT. She had to save the world with Harry or otherwise everyone would die. There was a greater chance that Ron would die if she left to go search for him. Because then, Harry wouldn't be able to find the Horcruxes without Hermione. Also, YES, people die in Harry Potter, but that's WAR. Let's look at American wars. A lot of people died. The same happened in Harry Potter. It's REALISTIC. Plus, Robert Pattinson actually didn't like Twilight.
And...wait...what? You apologized? You're warming up to Harry Potter? Oh...*awkward silence* Well in that case, I really ought to start on my homework. It's 11 and I have a test tomorrow, three essays, and a book to finish reading by tomorrow.
Jen out.

First of all, Twilight is about love. Real love. From what I understand, the "love" in Harry Potter isn't much. Edward would do anything for Bella. Die for her. How I see it, I know Ron and Hermionie get together, but he seems like a horrible person for her.
--- In Twilight, Edward is an abusive stalker who forbids Bella from having a social life, and Bella only likes him for his looks - there's isn't one thing in the book about his personality. It's all 'marble chest' this and 'velvet voice' that. Ron is a hilarious, loyal, and brave friend who RISKED HIS LIFE MULTIPLE TIMES to save his friends.
And while I was talking about Hermionie, here's something else. She's a week character. Unlike Bella, who struggles every day. Hermionie has no problems, the only things she has are self-created. She follows Harry into his troubles. Big whoop.
--- Hermione is not a weak character. Bella is pathetic and is not in control of her own body (apparently she doesn't know how to breathe normally yet is the smartest kid in the school???) Hermione struggles with coming from a non-magical family and is often called a know-it-all. She struggles between following the rules and being loyal to her friends. Bella struggles with whether her sparkling vampire boyfriend likes her or not.
And Harry, unkile Edward, drags everyone arround him into his own problems. That's horrible for someone
whose suposed to be the hero!
--- If I remember correctly, Edward tells Bella multiple times to stay away from him yet he stalks her and watches her sleep. If Edward was replaced by a 90 year old pedophile (oh wait, Edward is 110. He's basically a creepy pedophile with a "perfect smile" and "marble chest". Harry does not drag everyone into his problems, they willingly stand by his side because they are loyal to him.
And Voldemort, he's just violent! I hear a lot of people die, who wants to read about that? I mean, people die in Twilight, but come on, those are small things readers can handle. But Harry Potter? That's just
depressing.
--- In Twilight, vampires rip each other's heads off and burns their bodies. That's not violent?? Twilight makes me more depressed than Harry Potter because of how Bella's life pathetically centers around Edward. One should not need a boyfriend in order to function properly. Bella has no goals, no hopes, and no interests. That is what is pathetic, not Harry Potter.
The only good thing I find about Harry Potter is that Robert Pattinson plays Cedric. And I have no idea why he did that.
--- Robert Pattinson said in an interview that he thinks that Edward is stupid. Google it if you don't believe me.
Your reasons are shallow and childish and you obviously know nothing about Harry Potter. I have grounds to hate Twilight because I have read all four books, and you obviously have not even read even one of the Harry Potter book. If you're gonna critique something, at least know what the hell you're talking about.
Dramonie4Ever J.K.R. wrote a better love story in TWO lines than Stepanie Myer did in four books.
"All this time?"
"Always."
Ahhhh, that's true love!
alexisn10 Reason 2, 3, and 4 ruined it...
2. Both Bella and Hermione struggled everyday. Hermione was being bullied and had to worry about her best friends and herself being keeled off everyday at a young age, which is very traumatizing. Hermione dealt with her issues responsibly by just getting over it and finding the brighter things in life to cheer her up while Bella jumped off a cliff and isolated herself from society for months on end.
3. Harry didn't drag them along with him. They offered to come while he begged them to stay and save themselves. That's called loyalty.
4. Well...he is a villain. Killing off characters makes the book realistic and adds more emotion to the book. With each character close to Harry that dies, Harry matures more and more. Not everyone can survive. There was a war going on, not some petty argument. People die in wars, people close to you. Making everyone survive would make the book unrealistic and cheesy.
Rob agreed to Potter because the films were box office hits and he wanted to be an actor. Without GoF, he wouldn't be Edward Cullen. Besides, he seems to criticize Twilight a lot more than Harry Potter.
AdamRahl I love commenting on old posts.
Anyhoo, after reading your post, it seems that you are a very young girl. Your view on love is very limited. I've read both books. Bella and Edward hardly, if never, had an argument. Ron and Hermione fought during the early stages of their relationships. If you think love at a young age is worthy of sacrifice, get back to me in 10 years time,
For Bella, she was portrayed as a girl who can not live without a man. Based on your name, I guess you are a girl and you are proud that females are portrayed as one who can't live without a man? Really? For your info, on behalf of most men(i mean no offence to gays), we like girls who are independent, not those clingy ones.
I can give you more reasons but I think that'll do.
potatofan118 hey twilight fans! e-mail me at harrypotterfans118@gmail.com! I have to write an article debating which is better (HP or Twilight), and as I am obviously biased with Harry Potter, but I need counter claims, or reasons that Twilight is better. Thanks for the help!
jaimegryffindor So you said that the good guys die... Well I'm not sure if that was some weird misunderstanding but just to let you know, the good guys win. Harry does not die. It's very complicated and such a brilliant story.
reapingcoin "I hear a lot of people die, who wants to read about that?" This let me know that you have not read the Harry Potter series, therefore your opinion is invalid.
zanhar1 Wow 12 pages! This got crazy.
ThirteenthStorm You say Hermione brings all the problems on herself! What about being muggle-born. She didn't choose that!
Hermione also deals with her problems well. She goes to her friends for support - a good role model. Bella, on the other hand, goes and jumps of cliffs when she has a hard time. How is that meant to teach kids anything good. Oh hey! Kid, if your boyfriend leaves, go jump off a cliff or ride a motorcycle alright? That's not a good thing to say compared to: Hey, if you have trouble with anything in life, go to your friends for help. That's a good moral.
RyanDawnset-40 Sirius was his only family. He wasn't just going to let him die.
ElizaSkywalker I cannot actually believe you think that.
First of all, Twilight is a romance novel whereas Harry Potter is fantasy adventure, so that may be the reason as to why 'Twilight is about love. Real love'. Harry Potter has realistic love. Readers fell in love with the Harry Potter characters just based on what they had read about them. Not many authors are able to do that, Stephanie Meyer certainly couldn't; twilight fans only like Edward because Robert Pattinson is incredibly good looking.
The way Bella and Edward fall in in love is ridiculously unrealistic; a handsome vampire sees an ordinary human girl and falls in love with her at first glance. With Harry Potter you get to saw the characters matu
re and their feelings develop. For example, Harry and Ginny.
Secondly, Bella is a pathetic character, who struggles through pathetic things, in a pathetic way. Hermione however, is a strong character who manages to fight her way through hard times successfully. And yet she is still a very relatable and believable character.
And thirdly, Harry has no choice, he doesn't want to drag people into his problems, but a lot of his problems concern other people and issues that they would be bothered with as well. Edward didn't do this because what are his problems? And if they are about Bella then who would be bothered? Edwards problems don't concern anyone other than Bella.
And finally, a book series where there is a bad guy or guys, and where none of the important characters die is boring and unrealistic. Other than six year old girls, who wants to read a book like that where there is no war, none of the important characters die and is just happy happy happy nothing bad happening, just rainbows and unicorns. Also, the Volturi are a joke compared to Lord Voldemort. All they do is just sit in their palace thing all day whereas Voldemort is out doing what bad guys are meant to do.
Twilight is absolute drivel and it gets me so frustrated when people claim that it is better than Harry Potter.
SlytherinRebel I made a fanpop count so I could tell you that these reasons are invalid and inaccurate and you should go get an educations and learn what a talented author is
SlytherinRebel Any place that is a harry potter vs twilight spot is an anti twilight spot
lililc Harry Potter is ALL about love , just there have all kinds of love instead of just romantic,
Lily,Narcisa and Molly shows motherly love, all the weasley have the family love, Harry have all the love from his friends , even Harry and Neville shows the love towards their pets
Also there is love for one self as Neville and learns
And course, there is romance in the book,is strong enought
Dumbledore said everytime he cans that love is the most powerfull thing in the universe
And Harry would totally die for his friends and many people of hogwarts he don't even know
Hermione is not weak , she does cries a lot but she stand up in bad situations, she shows panic like every people but she face her fears
Harry could be stronger than her,but she is smart and is fast at plain
Harry don't want to drag his friends into trouble, they go with him cause they are loyal and brave
Voldemort, cruel, violent, lots of people die....had you heard about Hittler ?
And Pattinson in harry potter, his mistake was act in twilight (i know everybody knows it,but he hate it)
thebooknerdlife Harry Potter is about "real love" too. And not just romantic, couple love, (like Twilight) but also the love of family, and friends. And as soon as Edward comes along, Bella ditches all her friends. And Ron is a better boyfriend than Edward, as he doesn't seem to control Hermione's life like Edward controls Bella's. He also doesn't touch Hermione's belongings without permission, which is what Edward did when he abandoned Bella for no real reason
*weak
Hermione is MUCH stronger than Bella, and isn't totally dependent on her males, like Bella is. Also, Bella can not fight. I doubt Bella would be able to punch her way out of a paper bag. And what are Bella's struggles? "Oh, who should I choose, a sexual assaulter or a pedophile?" Hermione does have her own problems, and DOESN'T follow Harry into his own. Also, Bella has more self-created problems. So.
*unlike *around
Actually, Harry NEVER does that. Edwards the only one who "drags everyone arround him into his own problems"
Harry Potter is realistic. People from both sides, good and bad die. Twilight doesn't make you feel any emotions, except maybe for boredness.
Also, James, the vampire who tries to kill Bella is violent, as are many of the other vampires. Your point is?
Actually, you'll find that Robert Pattinson HATED Twilight and preferred Harry Potter. And that's that.
NaturalBeauty Harry potter is about confronting fears, finding inner strength, and doing what is right in the face of adversity. Twilight is about how important it is to have a boyfriend. -Stephen King
Bridoesgaming Twilight beats HP'S arse every day! I mean, HP is so boring in the first few books! Most of it is just him doing normal school stuff, then at the end is when the sort of cool stuff happens. Twilight is interesting most of the book. Also, the last book spent like 50% of it about the trio camping. That's so ooooo boring! HP sucks and needs too many magic and made up things to keep the readers interested. Twilight would still be super amazing even if there isn't vampires or werefolfs.
HP fans are also usually nerds with no life who pretend to be the best linguistics and literature experts there are, we aren't stupid and don't pretend to be know it alls. Hermione is, and she is super annoying, kind of like you guys.
Who cares about Stephen king? Sure he is an expert, but it's just one dude.
Also, you guys are so delusional to think HP is better! A lot o f you were talking about potato is god, or something, last time I checked, only those with NO LIFE said stuff like that.
Twilight is better! And that is a fact!
Peace out
Bridoesgaming Most of you wouldn't care about Stephen King unless he said that HP is better, which it isn't!
ArcticWolf @Bridoesgaming
Personal opinion, buddy. Personally, I find Harry Potter much better because I think Twilight is boring as hell most of the time. There is so much dull, useless information that her editor, for whatever reason, kept in. I'd much rather read about your average school day at Hogwarts than Bella going into detail about what she's cooking for dinner, when and how long she took her shower, Bella doing the laundry, etc. I guess you find that stuff interesting, but I don't.
MangoCat14 Aw….well you’re just ADORABLE! How old are you? Eight? Cause judgin’ by your spelling, sentence structure, and reasoning, that’s the kind of vibe I’m gettin’.
*cracks knuckles*
Now, let’s get down to business, y’all.
So, first things first, Twilight is not about “Real love”. It’s about an annoying little bratty weakling of a….dare I say it?.....woman, who decides she loves an abusive, yandere (I’m an otaku, OK?) of a…..dare I say it?.....vampire. Harry Potter is the book series with true love. For example, oh, I don’t know…...HARRY’S MOTHER LEGIT DIED FOR HIM OUT OF….
*drumroll*
LOVE!!
And, the feelings that Harry and Ginny have for each other?
*drumroll*
ALSO LOVE!!
And, sure, Ron and Hermione don’t seem like a great match, but I’m personally fine with them ending up together. They did have some decent chemistry throughout the series, after all. I think that J.K. Rowling did a very nice job on setting up all the relationships, in fact. She’s a very talented writer, unlike SOME PEOPLE…
*cough, hack* Stephanie Meyer *cough cough*
OK, second, exactly how is Hermione weak- Oh, I’m sorry, WEEK, in any way? She’s intelligent, independent, and is a huge badass when she wants to be. Her character is very well developed, and personality-wise, could very well be real. Bella was simply comprised of a few stupid stereotypes, in what I’m guessing was under 10 minutes. Bella’s struggles are so petty. I PERSONALLY COULD LIVE WITHOUT A [censored] BOY, UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE. THE STUPID, FALSE WAY WOMEN ARE PORTRAYED IN THE PILE OF CRAP THAT IS THE TWILIGHT SAGA IS REVOLTING. IS THAT ALL WE ARE? TOYS FOR MEN? PRETTY LITTLE SUBMISSIVE DOLLS THAT NEED A MAN TO EVEN [censored] FUNCTION?
OK, how exactly does Harry drag people into his problems? He goes out of his way sometimes to keep the people he loves safe. For example, at the end of Book 6, he decides to end his relationship with Ginny, so that Voldemort won’t have too much of a reason to hurt her.
Voldemort is violent because he’s a freaking villain! He was also based on Hitler, who was….
*drumroll*
VIOLENT, TO PUT IT LIGHTLY.
Plus, death in books can actually be a good thing. They make us feel emotion, which is what authors want to happen. Through emotional pain, we are able to further connect with the characters. I felt nothing while reading Twilight, save for a happy rush of adrenaline every time Bella comes close to death. That is not a good thing. -_-
So, anything to say to this, hon?
sabriniania Correct, Harry Potter is reasonably better than Twilight. I have read and watched both series, to play a fair game.
Firstly, we have the authors and the series themselves. J.K. Rowling is the second richest female entertainer (behind Oprah Winfrey), (far) richer than the British queen with a net worth of 1.0 billion. She is also regarded to be as one of the richest citizens in her country, which can be proved by taking a look at her net worth. And Harry Potter is worth approximately 15.0 billion dollars, which proves how awesome Harry Potter is. Meyer's net worth is lower than the Queen's (125 million dollars compared to 500 million), and even though Twilight's net worth is not truly calculated, I will estimate that it will not at all reach the billion dollar mark.
Secondly, Voldemort was violent? Harry drags people into his problems? If you have actually read the books, good for you. You obviously do not understand how a story works. Voldemort is supposed to behave violent, killing people, good or bad; he's the enemy. He does not sit on his little throne all day, waiting for news to come. And as for Harry, where did you hear that? From another fan site? Edward does that. As explained in previous comments, he is the reason of so many of Bella's enemies (surprising how they don't even look scary). People want to help Harry even though he turns down any offer of help.
Thirdly, @PotterForever is completely correct. Twilight= loved by immature fans, disliked by critics and literary experts. Harry Potter= loved by fans of all ages (age appropriate), loved by critics and literary experts. Search it up. Even the President reads HP.
Seriously. Don't waste your time, Lautner.

Severus Snape is without a dought the deepest most complex character in Harry Potter. His relationship with Harry was quite complicated in the sense that he had a very difficult past with both Harry's parents. On the one hand he was deeply in amor with his mother, but on the other hand he absolutaly LOATHED his father. This resulted in the awkward difficult relationship the two of them had throught the books. Snape cared about Harry, but only to the point where he wanted to make sure his physical being was protected, and that he was alive and well. He cared about this, because his amor for...
