I remember visiting this website once...
It was called Liam Cunningham sheds light on season 8 filming schedule | Watchers on the muro | A Game of Thrones Community for Breaking News, Casting, and Commentary
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
stars that was on the red carpet for last night’s Golden Globes. And he gave a brief interview that sheds some light on the plans for season 8 filming. Check out the clip after the jump.
To sum up, he says that season 7 will wrap filming at the end of February. And that they will come together again in September to begin filming the eighth, and final (:crying emoji:), season of the show. He also confirms that season 7 will be seven episodes and season 8 will be six, which jives with what Iain Glen said in another recent interview.
WinterPhil: With confirmation that we have only 13 episodes remaining, it’s really starting to hit me that
is drawing to a close. It’s exciting and sad all at once. Kind of like a typical episode actually!

Despite sadness of it coming to an end, this kind of confirms davos survives season 7
I wonder how many of the remaining episodes will be over an hour. Hopefully all of them!
It must be just Iceland filming and leftover Studio Belfast filming considering Sophie has already wrapped up and Emilia may be in Belfast but she is meant to start filming Star Wars Han Solo at the end of this month.
It’s so sad it’s almost over, I can’t wait to see S7 but at the same time it’ll be over in a few weeks than only six episodes will be left 🙁
I will need to take leave from work when S8 finishes just to recover….cant deal already
Make lots and lots of posts in which each poster A and B will: 1) agree that the ending was rubbish, and:
2) agree that all of the other posters C-ZZZZ’s myriad ideas of what the ending should have been were rubbish, but:
3) disagree with A asserting that B’s idea is rubbish and B asserting that A’s idea is rubbish!
At this point (well, long before this point to be honest) I consider Liam to be the Varys of the cast. You just know he knows way more than a lot of them. Iain as well is always a step ahead. Always love interviews with Liam!
And once it’s all over, I will continue being struck by how much time I spent on these forums.
I got to meet Liam Cunningham at San Diego Comic Con, he was the one of the nicest people I’ve ever met! I was an idiot and accidentally had my phone on video and he let me fix it and actually take a picture with him. Really down to earth and glad he is a part of the show.
Kit is supposed to start filming his new TV series in Feb as well. They will probably have juggle between their schedules for the two projects next month.
really said to hear season 8 will have only 6 episodes, i was hoping 8 episodes, with the total of 75 episodes for got would be perfect. but what can we do?
Liam’s such a charmer. I’d love a chance to hang out in a pub with him, down a couple of pints and talk art and politics! Very glad to hear the word “we” in reference to the cast reconvening in September.
Anyone know when they will start writing the season 8 scripts? I am assuming March/April time and I really hope GRRM is involved more but I guess it’s only if Winds is finished in the next couple of months.
My prediction has always been that Davos will be the 1,000th Lord commander of the night’s watch. I think he’ll be one of the few to make it through.
It was already confirmed a thousand times that next season will be 7 episoides and the eighth will be 6. I think we need no more confirmations.
Yes i agree he is going to survive but That position of 1000th LC will go to jorah if it goes to anyone at all
In my opinion the Nights Watch will be wiped out in the forthcoming season, not sure I see Jorah ending up there, I think he’ll die in the final battle hopefully before Dany dies (if that happens).
I was pretty sure Hodor was gonna survive to the end, so I’m not gonna go round thinking Davos will, even though he might in the books. That might be the secret GRRM told him?
I don’t believe the show will change the fates of any major characters, even if the how changes slightly I mean if Davos dies in the show it will have come from the books. But I agree along with Tyrion, Sam and Bran he’s one of the most likely to survive.
Yeah it’s a miniseries for BBC. Kit’s involved in the writing as well, I think. It’s about Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot.
He talks about it here, sounds really interesting! I hope we’ll see it this year. Kit got some amazing ancestors, relly.
1. Excited for Kit’s new miniseries. I had no idea it was filming so soon.
2. Liam seems like such an awesome guy.
3. I hope Jorah becomes the 1000th commander of the NW just like Jeor wanted in da books.
Unlike many of you, I am looking forward to the end of GOT. It will only open the world up to new stories being told in that universe. And you know they will. Even if some of it ends up not being very good, eventually they will hit on something amazing. Maybe some of it will be even better than GOT.
I’ve been following this series for over 10 years and tbh I’m ready to see how it ends.
And as much as it pains me to say, we may never get the canon source material ending, so I’m psyched to see it play out on screen.
I’m really happy that the end is near. This show is not TWD after all.
Pretty cool, but the 15th annual Visual Effects Society Awards though? How many freakin award shows are there? lol 🙂

Now that we have seen possible ends for the noble-born, high-born, and high-DNA-bastards, mayhaps the iron throne will be won by Davos. From non-reading pirate to king, or whatever the ruler will be called. Mayhaps his reign will be egalitarian.
I personally think that the time for the best GoT related entertainment and storytelling is now while the show is still on and all involved are still giving 100% effort to the original story. Once it’s gone, there’s probably going to be nothing but remakes, pre-quels, post-quels, and side projects that are going to leech off the fame and popularity of GoT. It’s a rare thing when good stories and movies come out of the whole “expanding the universe” thing. All the studio cares about is making money, and they know GoT fans will watch anything GoT related. It’s just about greed at that point, not good storytelling. That’s why I hope there will be no new stories once GoT is done, but to each their own.
Mr. Derp: Once GoT is gone, there’s probably going to be nothing but remakes, pre-quels, post-quels,
Canon and film have left a few dozen plausible endings and paths to the endings. I can see shows that allow viewers to choose which ending they would like to see. The shows can spin through the possible endgames. The viewers can run through ending after ending.

I suppose that would fall under the “to each their own” deal. It’s an interesting idea and I’m sure some people would definitely enjoy that, but not me. What would be the purpose of watching someone else’s story just so you can fill in the blanks with whatever you want? I just don’t see any point in doing that and it’s not very challenging for the viewer. I wouldn’t sit through years of episodes just to create my own ending. I think it’s better to write your own story instead of trying to alter someone else’s.
I totally agree. I’m not interested in any other story set in that universe. I care about the story we watch now, and i dread the milking of the product without any artistic regard.
My personal GoT experience will be limited to watch the whole series 1000 times!

The thing is though look at say Battlestar Galactica a couple of years ago, that was so big but when they did a prequel to it Caprica and even though BG had so many fans not enough people watched Caprica and it ended up being canceled after just one season That just goes to show that no matter how big a show is, once you take away all the characters and actors that fans have loved for years, just being in the same universe won’t ensure success of a show in fact it can do the opposite.

Very true. Any good story needs an ending. If there is no ending, then there really is no point. People outgrow things after a while. And sometimes when you’re always waiting for what’s next, you miss what’s already there.
Mr. Derp: Any good story needs an ending. If there is no ending, then there really is no point.
Yes, and ASoIaF readers are yearning for the canon ending and paths leading to that end. Of the many threads and occurrences, what are the points and what is the main point of it all? Is there an underlying purpose to the narrative? Is there an underlying cause that creates these stories as an effect? Fans look to the books to reveal the many mysteries unexplained.
Without the conclusion, we fans have just been reading a shaggy dog story. And with the names of the direwolves, mayhaps we have been warned.
I’m not interested in any other story set in that universe. I care about the story we watch now, and i dread the milking of the product without any artistic regard.
This. I’m so invested in the current story and characters that any ancillary stories set in roughly the same universe do not interest me. They seldom do (looking at you, Marvel). And I’m even more invested in the show and its actors and crew–I don’t want to expand beyond it. After living 15 years with ASOIAF and not having read one related book, you know I mean it. (Though Dunk and Egg tales do sound enjoyable.)
