Press Roundup: Preparation in Ireland, Spain wrapping up, and other GoT news 

The ball is definitely rolling in Northern Ireland while things are wrapping up in Spain.  At the top is a photo of Shane’s Castle where the

Antrim Observer noticed some GoT preparation. From Osuna, Juego de Tronos posted a photo looking into the bull ring where we see many costumed extras.

New photos from Magheramorne Quarry have also surfaced (possible unmarked spoilers at link).  A fan noticed the activity on the Castle Black set and snapped several shots.

Another fan took aerial photos of the same quarry.  In the photo below, the red arrow points to Castle Black, the green to a large screen structure, and the yellow to a third structure which might be the Blackwater set from Season 2.

 More good news from Northern Ireland included a Kit Harrington spotting in Belfast a couple of days ago.

And another fan took some pics while walking in some fields near a GoT set.

Finally two bits of entertainment news.  First, Dubrovnik, Croatia wants to tap more into the GoT phenomena by creating a Game Of Thrones Theme Park on the Island of Lokrum.  The article says they will use the existing monastery on the island.  And GRRM appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers last night.  Amy Poehler was also a guest and had the honor of testing GRRM’s knowledge of his own books.

What will Shane’s Castle be used for? Maybe some broken down castle during the Sansa and Littlefinger romp through the Vale.

Although there isn’t much in the way of exciting information here, it is very good to have a new roundup. I think I was going to explode if I had to put up with that Iron Islands post anymore.

Doubt this will get over 700 comments though!

I know it’s old news, but maybe this finds by Carne should be included, carsting news is always interesting imo.

We are going to miss the news about GoT here in Spain, it’s been fun following all the opinions and different experiences of fans, extras cast and crew. I know it was posted in the previous post but as a tribute, the link with lots s of images of Spanish fans with the actors:

If you are talking about that castle set, no, it’s not Deepwood Motte. It’s a set from three years ago, which stood for the Mudgate in the Battle of the Blackwater. Even if there was a possibility that they’d reuse the set, the pictures actually disprove it —it’s abandoned, in complete disrepair. You can even see its hollow wooden guts. So there’s no indication they are reusing it in any way.

Lokrum huh, maybe Patchface’s source got something mixed up about what it was being used for.
