(Thank god, I'm already home) As I said before and getting tired of repeating it, I know that Mushu is very funny but he's also very selfish. In both movies the main reason he started doing things was just to help himself and not lose his place as a guardian without caring of Mulan's feelings. (And although he did redeemed himself, it wasn't very nice of him still).

I prefer genuinly funny over forced funny...I also think that Mushu is more interesting as a character, because he starts out as selfish and changes during the movie. The genie only changes according to the whims of his masters. Plus, Mushu is the only side-kick, who has his own sidekick - he is THAT important.

Ok, Genie was the one of the MOST important factora to the storyline in Aladdin. Jafar wanted the lamp that Genie was in, so he could receive his wishes. Aladdin was able to transform into Prince Ali because of Genie. Genie was also a voice of reason and told Aladdin to just be himself. He also had a great song ("Friend Like Me") and could do magic. Plus, Robin Williams kicked ass in this role.

Mushu's wonderful, but sometimes he just does things that make me want to slap him. *Cough* Trying to break up Mulan and Shang so he can keep his job. *Cough* I love him and Genie both, though. :)

I'm not fussed on either of them, they both talk so much that it becomes irritating. But at least I can empathise with Genie, he had no freedom. Mushu was selfish, he just wanted to become a guardian again and I really couldn't care less whether he achieved that or not.
