^the rule was most likely made so that everyone else could get the chance to win, only it's mostly the newer members that win the contest anymore. I was seriously surprised that TigerRanma hadn't even won yet...

Most of these people should win in my opinion, but defenitley not all of them!

Why is that surprising? The "award", as far as I understand it, is supposed to be for those which contribute the most to the group - it's somewhat logical that the price tends to end up with the members, who write the most articles (hence my pick, but that was very difficult), make the most picks and organize the challenges. Well, and newer members tend to be full of ideas, so they tend to contribute more at once.
I think it's a good rule - as long as there are enough deserving members left, and I don't see a shortage coming anytime soon.

@Dreamygal I'm sure she has, and I certainly don't mean that making comments is less worth than enything else. But when I have to make a choice for a pick like this, I take a look into the profile of the nominees to see how many article they have written, how many pictures they have posted and what kind of picks they created. With one article, a dozens photos and a handful of picks her profile doesn't look very impressive compared to someone like, lets say, you, who has written 77 articles. It's a matter of perception.

Commenting is different, indeed. My lazy ass doesn't write articles.
