Urgh...not again the "we know it will be okay" comment - we always know that it will be okay. The scene in which the fairy think that they have lost against Maleficent, after they managed to evade her for 16 years, is very drawn out, and gives the audience a lot of time to feel for them.
This one on the other hand is very rushed - plus, it's about Aladdin doing something, he should have done the whole time. There is also a lot of elation in it, because Genie will get his freedom.

she could always get out somehow. she could always get back to her prince. we saw her do it in the third movie and she did. so i think she would have been okay either way. she doesn't even try to get out!

It's sad, yes, but everyone knows that she's just sleeping, not dead, and that someone's going to come along and save her eventually -- sort of a bit of ruined suspense in the opening there, really. Cinderella being locked up is more horrifying/Nightmare Fuel than anything else.
