I'm sorry, but how the f*ck did Cinderella leave before this? She's incredibly feminist

AudreyFreak picked Merida:
^People don't know what feminist means. they think it means blindly beating up men or something. women who are flawed and can't do everything themselves like a Mary Sue are "damsels" and an embarrassment to the female sex.

which leads me to.... Merida! I saw someone make a good point in the other poll. she's supposed to be a feminist icon but she needs rescued more than any of them, which feminists hate. she's also not very original. I've heard many of them complain about this. they want characters like Merida (tomboys, adventurous, headstrong, single, etc.) but didn't want the one they got.

And since one new form of feminism (cuz goodness know there's like 500 now) I think that show New Girl displayed well says femininity is not wrong and people should stop implying women need to act like men to be strong or interesting. Brave epitomizes the opposite of that.

Cinderella, really?? I would've been much more fine if Aurora left, though she's my favorite.

Cinderella? Someone had to be rigging the polls...
Anyway Aurora is sweet and bubbly and she follows the rules...and gets rescued which feminist (the crappy ones) hate. I love Aurora to bits, but either Aurora or Ariel then Merida, because she's all "ruff and stuff" but she also gets rescued a BUNCH of times.

It's because of her lack of screen time and because she does nothing.
Why did Cinderella leave? She is the most feminist of the Classic Princesses.

Yeah, I'm really sorry to say that Cinderella left. I kept on wanting to write round 2 but I couldn't because I was hoping Cinderella would move up, sadly she really never did. And no, the poll is not rigged, Cinderella was eliminated fair and square by voters, sorry :(

^if there are a crapload of votes but not enough comments matching, it was rigged.

why do people keep saying "does nothing"? what does that have to do with any kind of feminism?

^Because, hate to break it to you, how on earth are we suppose to know anything about her if she is only in the movie for 18 minutes!? I'm sorry, I didn't want Cinderella to go first, but I felt like Aurora should have been out. Feminism might not mean that you have to do what boys do, it means that you can do whatever you want to do, but what Merida wanted was to be free and have adventure. Just because she did what the typical guy would do doesn't mean that that wasn't her dream, cause it was. Aurora didn't make a choice for herself of live her dream, it just happened to work out that the prince was the guy she danced with. But if it wasn't, she wouldn't have lived her dream which makes her un-feministic. Merida could be classified as a brat, but at least she stood up for herself.

AudreyFreak picked Merida:
^but again, that and living a dream have absolutely nothing to do with feminism. At least according to feminists, because they always say it's "just about wanting respect and equality" and choice which means what Aurora or any of them do is fine. Plus of not having/living a dream somehow did make you "unfeminist" then Belle, Jasmine, Mulan, Elsa, and Pocahontas definitely qualify. And i don't remember Merida ever talking about having any dream anyway. And I agree Cinderella should've stayed before Aurora, I'm just saying people's reasoning here isn't related to what feminism is supposed to be.

I suppose. But I still feel Merida is looked on at a completely wrong angel. I'm not defending her because she's my favorite, because sadly she's far from it. It's just if you spend every waking moment of your life having your mom telling you what to do and how to live your life there will be a breaking point. For instance, when Ariel made her deal with Ursula is wasn't because of Eric, Eric is what pushed her to finally live her dream. And marriage is what finally pushed Merida to finally stand up too everyone. Yes she wanted to just run around and have fun, but her whole goal in the movie is to get her mom to understand her.
