However, Snow and Prince just need to go at this point. The immaturity of their feelings, inexplicable idolization on Snow's part and most importantly their incredibly young ages make it problematic for them to last and work beyond teenage love/lust.
4 days does not make 2 seasons. The movie started in the warm seasons, which was probably Autumn and then Winter, showing snow. I'd say it would've been 2 weeks plus 2 days from the moment Belle was in the castle to the moment she thought he died and she said "I love you."
I think that Auora and Phillip are again, gonna get stress from all that paperwork and actual oyal duties, that love won't be such a thing anymore- but a compromise to get it over with. Same with Aladdin and Jasmine.
I disagree with what has been said about Belle and Beast. They actually got to know each other's interests and passions. They both slowly changed their points of view, and were determined to become better people for the one they loved. We don't see such acceptance and devotion in a lot of Disney couples.
Can't be bothered to comment further. Sorry. I want to take part in this countdown by voting but it's too frustrating and too draining for me to even try debating. So yeah, here's a comment.
While I see some issues with Belle and the Beast, I want to point out that even at his worst he never hit her. And now, without the beasty body, I don't think that Belle would be terrified of him, even if he looses his temper again.
So I go now for Cinderella and Charming, though for other reasons then everybody else. I just think that the meddling king would put a lot of pressure on them, which might put a strain on their relationship - especially if Cinderella doesn't get pregnant immediatly.
Actually, we do: Flynn turns his entire life around because he actually faces, processes and acknowledges the fact that he chose a wrong and destructive way of going about life due to misguidance and reasons much more understandable and logical (such as growing up as an orphan) than any of Beast's self entitled, abusive tendencies that led him to being cursed in the first place and Flynn does make an ultimate sacrifice for Rapunzel offering the most solid proof of his love by laying his life for her. Eric accepts Ariel and takes care of her even back when he doesn't know she is the girl "with the voice" he was looking for and gradually falls in love with her real, overly enthusiastic self, being willing to move on and even entirely deviate from his established ideology of a dreamer in order to be with her - and he doesn't brag about it nor does the movie contrive this aspect/part of his development or obnoxiously present it as an act of exceptional nobility hence why it ends up looking so much more organic. And I have to admit, even Naveen, despite how rushed, inorganic and unconvincing his ultimate change of mentality came off as, does revaluate his life reconsidering his perceptions, outlooks and attitude in order to be a goo husband for Tiana. I'm not trying to diminish the validity of Beast's progression but with that said, Belle and Beast are imo far from being that unique, revolutionary romance they are passed for.
@dimitri_is_hot beautiful post about Mulan and Shang. My thoughts exactly and you pointed out the strong sides of their organic match very eloquently.
Dmitri_is_hot- you said it perfectly
Swanpride- I can see what you mean about Belle and Beast, you made good points.
