Just by elimination now. Pocahontas has some incredible landscapes and amazing use of color. Sleeping Beauty is just so detailed. Tangled was revolutionary, but I think everything was carried out better in Brave. Also, it falls prey to some of the traps of CGI in general, for example, Rapunzel can look like a Barbie sometimes. Also, with how wonderful the emotion was for her parents, I think Rapunzel's face could have had more character in it. Also, I think the colors weren't as great as in Pocahontas. Either one is crushed by Sleeping Beauty, though, so I'm really fine with either leaving.

Just because of the movies left. Next would be Pocahontas.

Basically, I feel like Tangled didn't live up to its full potential, which I definitely think Pocahontas does. I guess Sleeping Beauty sort of falls short of its full potential due to some color inconsistencies, but that can be credited to hand-inked cells, so it doesn't disappoint me the way, say the lack of character in Rapunzel's face does. I honestly think Tangled's animation had it in it to be even MORE, which I am not convinced of in either other case.

All three have amazing animation, colour, landscape, and detail, but with Tangled, it's like you've seen the animation before somewhere, while the designs and animation in the other two unique and can hold on it's own area

I'm really happy that this is the top 3!

I love Pocahontas's animation, but it just isn't quite as impressive as the other two. I don't have anything negative to say about it, so that's really my only reason.

Swanpride picked Pocahontas:
I'm really happy about this top 3, too....especially since I didn't really expect that those movie would stay, considering that there were complains about CGI and Sleeping Beauty's supposedly plain animation from day one.

This time around the decision is easy. Pocahontas is easily the most perfect animated Disney Princess movie of the renaissance area (perhaps even the most perfect animated of the area period), but it wasn't groundbreaking. The backgrounds are great, but Sleeping Beauty did it years earlier without the help of computers. The camera angles were first done in BatB. It is a wonderfull work but I think Sleeping Beauty has artistically more merits, being a truly unique movie animationwise in the way the characters and background blend together, and Tangled was more important for CGI animation, stirring the style away from "plastic" to "lush" and more oriented on the style used in cell animation. And the hair is impressive - really impressive. No matter what some here say, no, we haven't seen this beforehand. And any movie which came aftermath, especially Brave, could only be the way it is because Tangled did it first! Because the animators worked hard to get the hair realistic, but also to develop a new style in CGI animation.

So, this in mind, I think it's time for Pocahontas to go. It's good...but the other two are slightly better.

This is a really good top 3 like milky-way said!
But I'd have to go with Pocahontas. Not as impressive or detailed as the other two.

Plus, Pocahontas has a few outstanding scenes and the use of colours is really interesting...but with Sleeping Beauty or Tangled, I could pretty much take a random screencap and there would be something in it to talk about.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST? SERIOUSLY? I don't even care much for that movie but it has gorgeous animation. Anyway same as I've been saying since day one; dull, dark, boring, plain, and it doesn't impress me at all.

Tangled has great animation for a CGI movie, but there wasn't enough great blending in Pocahontas or enough impressive tricks like painting in the background like in SB. Still great though, but I think it should be in the top 5 instead.

KataraLover- I'm sorry, and I don't mean to start an argument, but you really can't objectively say Sleeping Beauty is plain. Plain would suggest a lack of details and very little adornment and variety, which is the exact opposite of the animation in Sleeping Beauty. Sleeping Beauty pays more attention to detail than any other movie. There are lines in ALL of the wood. There are a ton of different types of trees and leaves in the scenery. While you may not like the animation, which is fine, the animation in Sleeping Beauty is simply the opposite of plain or boring.

Swanpride- All I know is there are times in Brave when I would sit and watch Merida's hair in awe and that would be my main focus watching the movie, and the animation of her hair made a distinct impression on me, which can't be said for any character in Tangled. I feel the software was implemented much better in Brave.

I love the three of them but I think the amount of detail and the special effects in both Sleeping Beauty and Tangled are amazing!

Swanpride picked Pocahontas:
@rythmmagic Yes, but the software was made for Tangled...and was so difficult to create that they weren't even sure they would manage it in time. I give rather the movie which took the risk the credit than the movie which leaned back and had time to experiment with what was already provided. And it's not just the hair in Tangled. Ever watched it in HD? The details in the background, on the clothes, they are unbelivable.

But then...I watch Tangled two time in theaters, just because I know it wouldn't be the same seeing it on the small screen and I wanted to admire the animation again...

As I said before, Shrek had very similar animation and it was made 10 years earlier, therefore I don't think Tangled deserved to be in top 3.

Not so great top three. This one should go to make it a better top two. It's plain.
Tangled and Sleeping Beauty by far have the most impressive animation out of the top three.
