why do people like derek más than simon and give a reasonable answer.

I think people like Derek better for two reasons. 1. the relationship between Chloe and Derek is built up más then her with Simon. She keeps going on little adventures with him, and helping him during his change, and the fact that she obviously is attracted to him (the fact that she is always commenting on how he looks with out his camisa, camiseta on). I feel like Simon is a good guy, but Derek is always there for her, and he is the "dark horse" we want him to win, because he is not the obvious choice.

Well speaking from conversations i've had with friends i think there are a few reasons.

I agree with what TheCharmedOne says about the 'bad guy' type and it seems to be true that a lot of the time the 'nice guys finish last.' Most girls just seem to find the bad boy type más alluring.

There's also the relationship with Chloe, with Simon the two of them seem to have the sort of 'cute' relationship going on where as Chloe's and Derricks could be described as más interesting and deep.

Those are my reasons, i don't think it's really because of appearences - after all, even if Derrick does have muscles, it's clear that he's not described as Prince Charming - but más for their personalities. People's opinions might have also been effected from other stories they've read - they grow to like a certain type of guy.

Derek and Chloe have this connection that Simon and Chloe don't. And yes, this is partly because she was there for him when he needed her.

In a roundabout way, I think it's also 'cause Chloe is capable of standing up to Derek. She doesn't hesitate to argue with him when she believes he's wrong and she's not afraid to speak her mind to him (or she is sometimes, but speaks up anyway). Because of all this, Derek hasn't met anyone like C before - I mean, from what I gather, every girl he'd met either ignored him o was rude/nervous around him (eg Rae, Tori, Liz. And Simon's ex in Dangerous).

Derek may push Chloe away, threaten her, argue with her, but no matter how many times he does this, it seems both of them are looking out for each other, and understand what the other is going through, in a meant-to-be sort of way. Hehe =)

I think Simon isn't so good for Chloe because mostly all they've talked about are superficial things (movies, food, couples etc). And if not, it's about Derek, Derek. Also for the fact that Simon and Chloe are rather too similar. Their characters seem to click too easily, and readers like conflict and argument in relationships (more angst!). Of course there are some who do not, but I think that's one of the (subconscious? =P) reasons some people are rooting for Derek.

I'm also interested why tu believe Simon would be better for Chloe. What do tu think? =)

I am a Derek fan myself, however, my best friend is pro-Simon. Personally, I don't like Derek better because of Chloe and his relationship - I could care less. I amor Derek's character because his power is so different from the others'. Yes, they're all difficult to control and deal with, but his is the only one where an enormous amount of pain is involved - both physical and emotional - and the fact that he keeps pushing through that is a very admirable trait to me.
Also, I tend to prefer bigger guys (with smaller guys I always feel like I'm going to break them...) and I enjoy the challenge of getting to know someone and Derek is much más reserved than Simon, making him harder to read. And, of course, Derek's got that 'bad boy' thing going for him <3 which doesn't hurt ;)

simple, he's the underdog, everybody likes the underdog, plus he gets the sympathy for being a wolf.

I think that people like Derek más because his character is a guy who acts like he's tough, mean and doesn't give a care about anyone other than his brother. But the truth is that all he wants to do is protect the people he cares about and he loses his temper so much because he worries about whats happening to those around him. Simon's character shows that he cares about Chloe but at the same time it shows that he's a guy who expects Chloe to fall for him and choose him over his brother Derek. Thats how I see it.

i think people like derek más is because he sincere and honest ad dosent spend all his time playing games,draw and flirt like simon he serious and he is way stronger and hotter hehas más muscles and he is drop dead hot without his acne and mostrar off his muscles más often and his hair look so natrual than simon plus simon is the weakest person out of all of them and the sorcorer is suppose to be stroger than the witch

I personally like Derek better because he's the misunderstood one, and I'd appreciate it if he had a chance to be in a relationship instead of Simon for once. PLUS, I think he contrasts well with Chloe. They.. 'complete' each other, if tu will. They can both be generally better people because of the other person.

Also... He's got a soft spot for her. ^^

Well theres más to him than his looks for starters, I mean how do u not like him should be the question! I adore his Character, especially after I read DANGEROUS!!! <3LOVE DEREK SOUZA<3
Imean he's real smart, and he can be funny 2 but not ina mean way, he always thinks of others b4 himself and ya he is REAL H-O-T!!!!! EVERYTHING about him is appealing!

Because even though Simon was all over Chloe, Derek was the one who really helped her and really connected with her more. Pluse she was always with Derek not Simon.

Personally I like Derek más because his relashion ship with Chloe would be much más intense, and hot. With Simon it would just be like.. every other relashion ship, boring boring boring! With Derek, the relashionship is much más intense, because Chloe is endangered around Derek, but her amor for him is still strong.

T prefer Derek because it's easier to say.
