Chris Pratt and Anna Faris are separating 

Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.

It was about time. Once he landed the big Jurassic Park and success of Guardians of the Galaxy I knew their marriage was in trouble. I also noticed they were spending a lot of time apart.

Right now it seems like nothing can go wrong for him, at least not professionally. He\'s in a groove. Personally things seemed to be going great too. He\'s happy with his partner. They\'re loving parents, they are supportive of each other, they are both kind and sweet people. But she\'s been upset about not being able to get pregnant and now she\'s in denial about a serious problem. It\'s starting to affect her career. She shows up drunk to events, embarrassingly drunk. To the point where reporters speaking to her don\'t even feel comfortable using what she\'s said, even though these are press opportunities for promotion. And they are really concerned about it at work. She drinks at work and it\'s making the situation difficult for cast and crew because they have to keep reshooting over her mistakes and the retakes are piling up. Her boss has had extensive experience with a big star disrupting the set and is just trying to get through as much as they can, keep production going, because no one wants the staff to be out of pay if everything is suspended. Recently though, it’s come to the point where they had to hold an intervention for her. It happened on set. Right now she\'s not in rehab but the hope is that they can keep her functioning until there\'s a long enough break for her when she\'s ready for treatment.

My surprise is exactly 0. Dude can almost never handle a come up without thinking they\'re entitled to trade in their spouse for a newer model.

this is why it\'s possible to pull out counter-examples: they\'re so rare that it\'s noticeable/memorable. (like green day\'s billie joe armstrong is still married to someone he met before getting big, and it\'s always been noticeable at big public events bcs it\'s like, there\'s a normal adult human woman among all the supermodels.)

But I heard Billie Joe was a huge cheater too. A lot of these men that don\'t leave their wife they dated pre fame isn\'t because they don\'t cheat but because they feel they owe it to them and know that they\'re not with then for money or fame. It\'s sad.

Ah, that sucks. I am old enough to have friends whose weddings I attended get divorced. It happened once so far, and was strangely upsetting. I am going to the guy\'s second wedding this fall...

Two of my friends are already divorced (not from each other, lol) in their mid-20s. I really hope they don\'t rush into a second marriage...

Are they in the military? Jw cause I feel like it\'s a common factor. I know two girls I went to high school with that are both in their second marriages already and everyone involved (themselves, ex husbands, new husbands) are enlisted into some branch. We\'re like 24/25, it\'s crazy.

I\'m 30 and there are several people I went to HS with that are on their 2nd and 3rd marriages.

I\'m from a rural area where people get married really young, and I\'d say at least 1/3 of the people I went to high school with that have gotten married have since gotten divorced. One girl is actually engaged for the 4th time...she\'s in her early 30s.

I\'m in my early thirties and my friend met a girl while we were in grad school, they married, divorced and he\'s engaged again. It\'s weird to think that I\'ve been here through all that and sad. It\'s weird when you get older.

It happens. One of my friends is remarried, she got married at 20. They divorced a long time ago and she\'s a lot happier now. Her new husband is great.

I have several friends who have gotten divorced and it\'s weird. It\'s even weirder because my marriage has stayed in tact (knock on wood lol) and we are seeing all these people went know get married and divorced...idk it feels weird like what are we doing right that they couldn\'t do?

I know a girl who got married right out of high school, got divorced by 20, married again, divorced by 22, and then married again at 24. Her last wedding was like D&D themed.

yeah I am at that point too. My bf and I have been together almost 8 years and at this point I\'ve heard so many stories about couples that were together for YEARS, then got married and realized it didn\'t work that I don\'t really want to get married lol

One of my former classmates just got married for the third time. Cringing at how much money has been spent collectively on the weddings and divorces.

One of my best friends since childhood\'s husband announced he wanted to split 6 months after their first child was born. They\'d been married for 5 years!!

But, she actually eloped with the guy she\'s been seeing a few days ago and she is so much better off. He\'s got an extremely well-paying job, owns his own house (helped design it, too), and treats her son like his own. I wish them nothing but the best.

I used to teach at a private school in L.A and honestly, divorce was so common, we could set clocks by it. The parents would bring in their kid for kindergarten, then by 6th grade they would be getting a divorce and by middle school they would be married to different people and by high school they would be divorced a second time.
