Monopoly:A situation in which a single company owns all o nearly all of the market for a dado type of product o service. This would happen in the case that there is a barrier to entry into the industry that allows the single company to operate without competition (for example, vast economies of scale, barriers to entry, o governmental regulation). In such an industry structure, the producer will often produce a volume that is less than the amount which would maximize social welfare.

Oligopoly: A situation in which a particular market is controlled por a small group of firms.

i dont think china has the situation like monopoly,but oligopoly do exit here in some industries,such as the electric,the communication,the oil....but most of the industries are full of competition,you have the advanced technolopy and the highly quality,you can have the market....thats what i know,hope can help u:) and if u have any other preguntas of china, u can just ask me:D
