IDAHO SPUD - 1918 Idaho Candy Co

BONOMO TURKISH TAFFY - stopped making candy in 1989 after Tootsie Roll Industries bought rights to it in 1980. Tootsie Roll makes Doscher's Vanilla French Chew which they say in their opinion is identical in taste and texture. NOW IN PRODUCTION AGAIN 2011

ZAGNUT - launched in 1930 by DL Clark Co - this candy bar always stood in shadow of famous older sibling, the Clark Bar.

WACK-O-WAX LIPS - Concord Confections. In the early days of the petroleum industry, 1850's, newly invented kerosene was used to light homes, the by-product - paraffin, was made into candies and chewing gum. In the 1920's the J W Glenn Co. of Buffalo had a hit with wintergreen flavored "horse teeth". The wax division was sold, over and over again, followed by a series of owners.

PEARSON'S NUT GOODIES - debut 1912

CHERRY MASH - 1918 The Chase Candy Co., St. Joseph, MO

VALOMILK - The Sifers Family of Kansas started making in 1903. Folklore has it that an employee ruined a batch of marshmallow after too many sips from a bottle of vanilla extract. Company president Harry Sifers liked the runny stuff enough to fill chocolate cups with it. The 5c Valomilk then was available at stores in 1931.

POP ROCKS - 1975. Tiny pockets of C02 are released in your mouth causing a popping noise. FACT: Pop Rocks do not cause your stomach to explode when mixed with soda pop!

Tootsie Rolls was made in 1896
