Do tu like dubs o subs, and why?

I now prefer dubs primarily because I grew up watching dubbed versions of anime and I am now much más used to hearing and listening to the dubbed voices than the original, Japanese voices. Also dubbed anime sounds más better to me than the original, Japanese versions

Subs.

Honestly, while there are some dubs i like, for the main majority I prefer subs.

But it's not like I hate dubs. I recognize their importance, and without them, a lot of people would have never gotten into anime...but, I'm just a weirdo.

I just always prefer listening to things in their original language, whether it be anime, o a Muslim film about Arab tribes o something...

And I am also a huge fan of the Japanese language/culture, and am studying Japanese, so watching subs is really quite helpful.

So, yeah. Subs. Woohoo!

And I never really got how people complain about the speed of the subs moving too fast and stuff.

when I was 10, and first started getting into anime, I was NOT a huge reader at ALL, and only read in school if I absolutely HAD to.

and when I first started anime, i watched it all subbed

( actually school days was the first anime i watched when I was 10, but that's another messed up story).

and the subtitles never bothered me. I never had to pause the screen, i just read it and went on. I was completely fine with the subs...

I actually never found out english dubs actually existed until I was trying to find an episode of FMA for the first time, and saw it and was like "WTF IT's IN ENGLISH!?!" XD

But yeah....I rreally still don't get it.

I mean, I totally understand if tu have dyslexia o something like that, but like teenagers I know at my school are just like
'I'm to lazy to read, and it moves too fast. I feel like i'm in school.'

and honestly? that just kinda pisses me off. Like, if dubs are your thing, then that's completely FINE por me, there ARE dubs I prefer over subs, but if you're main reason of not watching subs is that you're just "lazy?"

Come on.. .

And another thing: The people who don't watch subs because they're racist and hate the japanese language.

I tried to get someone into anime at my school ( I told him to watch attack on titan on crunchyroll, since he seemed to be into action-orientated shows) and he was like '
Yeah, I watched it, but they talked so F***IN annoying! It was like retarted China-land o something.....'

I swear, I felt like punching him in the face.

And it wasn't just him!

All over forums,( not on fanpop btw) I see haters just spout off hate-mail to the entire japanese language and culture, and how they sound like "squeaky 5-yr old girls..."

So yeah, I realize I'm probably pissing a ton of other people off por escritura this, but yeah. It's just my opinion.

i like dubs.........in subs i cant watch closely to anime bcz i will be concentrating on subs..........that way i cant enjoy the anime..........eh he eh ehe

I like them bot alot, I'm Learning japaness so subs help me evaluate myself, but when I don't understand things its annoying to read the subtibles, dubs r más fun and easy to understand, xD

I don't have a problem with the original Japanese version, but I do not like to watch it that way. I agree with tu that a lot of the voices do not suit the characters, and I think many people can make sense of someone preferring to watch something in their own language. lectura subtitles sometimes results in a headache and slightly prevents focus and enjoyment. Overall, I prefer dubs. :)

I prefer the dubbed if at all possible. Simply put, I can't read the subs fast enough. I find when the anime's are subbed, I spend más time trying to read the text than actually watching the anime and the majority of why I do watch are for the little subtleties. For as much of the anime as I wind up missing, it pretty much defeats the purpose. I may as well just read the manga.

I used to amor watching dub, but now I honestly can't stand hearing some of the english voices for characters. I don't mind lectura the subs, and I think Japanese voices are just epic.

i like both, yes no dub is perfect but tu then dont have to read the subs. Japaneses dub is also great, tu get to hear the original voice actors in action. so why people make such a big deal about which is better is beyond me. TRUE anime fans amor BOTH, NO MATTER WHAT!!!

I like sub, because Japanese voices are interesting, and very powerful. ( Have tu ever herd itachi's voice in Japanese?) And I really wanna learn Japanese so it helps, and plus I never notice I'm reading.
Dub the voices are sometimes annoying, but I don't mind it. naruto in dub sounds bad, not in shippuden in the original .

I prefer subs over dubs any day!! I honestly think that the dubs are terrible and the voices don't suit the characters well. An excellent example for this is "Ouran High School Host Club DUBBED" Omg the voice for them are horrible! Dx Especially Honey and Haruhi's voice :( I have no problem lectura the subs and watching the anime at the same time. I like subs A LOT better :3

I amor something as long as it has good acting. I generally lean towards dubs because i feel like i connect más when watching something in a language i understand. That being dicho some dubs are bad and i watch the subbed for those

Tbh I've never found an english dub I've liked, so I tend to just stick with subs. I like being able to read it; I feel like I retain the dialogue better if I'm lectura it rather than listening. This'll probably sound strange too, but even though it's in a language I don't speak, I can pay más attention to voice inflections, speech cadences, and tone rather than a sentence. So subs for me=I pay más attention to what's being said/I remember it + the voices not being too big of a deal as it adds to the reading= I enjoy the mostrar better! Yay!

I prefer the subs because most of the time, I think that the voices suit the characters better. However, there are a couple that I watch the dub for, o I can watch in both dub and sub.

Depends. Some dubs are really bad, like in Naruto. But, when dubs are good, I watch dubs, because I'm too lazy to read, lol. Also, when dubs just seem right. Like the anime Hellsing, it takes place in England, therefore it should be English. Trinity Blood also. And both animes have great dubs! But animes like naruto o Hakuouki... it just feels right to watch them in subs... also because their dubbing suck. :x
