Yukito Kunisaki is on a journey in buscar of the Winged Maiden who was bound to the sky centuries ago, after hearing an old childhood tale from his mother. As Yukito shows his puppet mostrar to people in an attempt to make some money, he finds himself in a small town in which he did not expect to stay very long. However, when he meets an unusual girl named Misuzu, things take a drastic turn as he is invited to stay with her.

por staying in the quaint town, Yukito soon becomes friends with the locals. As he gets to know them better, he learns of their problems and decides to help, putting his buscar for the Winged Maiden on hold. With his buscar on hold, and his growing attachment to Misuzu and the small town, will Yukito ever find the Winged Maiden, o is she closer than he thought?

ángel Sanctuary

I agree, ángel Sanctuary is a excelent anime involving angels:)

I would also suggest X 1999 and likely there are others out there. I would say look for apocalyptic animes with ángeles in them.

Haibane Renmei! I've only watched the 1st episode to be honest, but it does not seem like a comedy. It seems like a deep after life story. Anyway i'll watch it and then i can give más details, but here's the Synopsis (from MAL):

A dream of falling from the sky...and then birth. Rakka is born from a large cocoon into the Old Home, greeted por a group of females with small wings on their backs and shining halos above their heads. Soon Rakka’s own wings grow, a halo is placed on her head and she is told that she must work in the nearby town of Grie. She soon realizes that the town and the entire world they live in are confined behind the Wall, a tall, impenetrable muro that none except the mysterious Toga are allowed to exit.

ángel Beats! takes place at a high school actuación as a limbo, where students learn to give up any lingering attachments they still have from life before continuing to an afterlife o reincarnation. Those in the afterlife school can still feel pain as they did when they were alive, as well as dying again, only to awaken later with no injuries.
