I don't think a collar in and of itself is cheating. However, combined with not buying your wife one (or something of similar value) and flirting with the girl you're buying it for does.

I'm not sure if he'd continue. On the one hand, he was obviously extremely attracted to her and cared for her. On the other, he seemed to feel guilty and awkward buying the necklace. I don't think he quite realized what it was he was doing.

As for everything else in life, motives are the most important. Buying a collar is not cheating per se. It depends on what the gesture may mean. A man that buys a collar to a female friend of his, out of pure friendship, even without telling it to his wife, well, this is not cheating, as long as he does know why he's doing this and his motives are clear to him.

If he does so with ulterior thoughts of getting into her bed, well, that's pretty different ! And yes, that's the beginning of a path that leads to cheating eventually. Unless the man wakes up before and stops.

I believe that cheating begins with acts. (Otherwise, I would be cheating on my hubby here, with all the things I can write about doing stuff with Severus !!!)

In Harry's case, I agree with Bri-Marie, he was lost in space, totally. I don't think that he realizes the true implications of his action. Stuff happen sometimes. Especially when caught in vulnerable moments.

I don't think it's cheating. But to buy an expensive collar for his secretary and just a Joanie Michell CD for his wife would give the serious implication that he would have a motive to try to make it a reality, if his wife wouldn't have found out. But, like what Marie said, I don't think he knew what he was doing and I think he realized it was a stupid mistake.

I think that Harry would have continued further cuz he wasn't thinking with his head and a man is a man and it will always be like that but for the collar i don't think its cheating but still he could have bought something even más fantastic to his wife like this she won't suspect anything

I personally don't think it'd be considered cheating, but if he took it further, which he did...or I think he did. then that is cheating. Had he not have been caught, he may've ended up telling her though..and then it wouldn't have ended as bad.

I knew about the necklace, but since I am blind, nothing in the dialogue dicho whether Harry did o didn't cheat, so I was sad because I thought he slept with her. But tu guys say he didn't? That's great. What concerns me is, the wife didn't seem to mind the necklace, o the collar and sex, but she did mind if he fell in love. I think there's too much loveless sex in this world. If I had a choice, I'd rather my husband come to me and say, "Honey, I fell in amor with someone", rather than just "I had sex with someone." If you're gonna do something do it with all your heart. Anyway, Harry didn't sleep with her? That's great. I only bought the movie because Alan was in it. Everybody else was swearing and having loveless sex. I liked that Alan wasn't. And I have noticed that about all the r-rated cine he's in. Like in "Die Hard", Bruce Willis swears like a house on fire, and Alan hardly swears at all. I amor him so. And that's not even counting his chinchilla-fur voice.

I'm not positive on this, but I think it was a más implied thing. Even if it wasn't it obviously *read in saracastic, dull, Snape/Rickman tone* created trust issues. They worked along side each other at the office and he bought his new secretary a neckless. Mia clearly hadn't been there long. She did take him back in the end, but looked worried. So, maybe he didn't do anything, but there was just a lot of trust issues. I still amor Harry though!
